Seasonal Field Coordinator – Cargo Operations Location: Kangerlussuaq, Greenland Employer: Polar Field Services, Inc. Deployment: ~2 months between April and August Pay: $1,227 – $1,550 per week About the Role Polar Field Services is hiring a Seasonal Field Coordinator – Cargo Operations to support logistics in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland. This position plays a vital role in receiving, reconciling, and delivering cargo that supports scientific research in the Arctic. From handling ice core shipments to tracking gear and clothing, you'll make sure the right supplies get to the right place at the right time. What You'll Do • Receive, reconcile, and deliver incoming cargo and supplies. • Weigh, label, and prepare pallets for transport. • Track and allocate program gear, including cold-weather clothing. • Support cargo handling for research materials, including ice core shipments. • Build positive relationships with the local community to coordinate services and procure supplies. • Provide general support to operations, including passenger transport and field deployments when needed. • Cross-train with teammates to assist with rotating responsibilities. What We're Looking For Required • High school diploma or equivalent. • 3+ years of experience in administration, customer service, or data management. • Intermediate computer skills. • Valid U.S. driver's license and passport. Preferred • Hazardous material shipment certifications: • Transportation of Hazardous Materials (49 CFR) • IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) • Military Airlift of Hazardous Materials (AFMAN, current version) • Experience with remote site and/or polar logistics operations. • Sewing and field gear repair skills.
