Recruit and admit students into online undergraduate and graduate programs.
Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years admissions or related experience, proficient computer and organizational skills, ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
POSITION: ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR DEPARTMENT: GRADUATE AND ONLINE ADMISSIONS OFFICE REPORTS TO: Director, Graduate and Online Admissions Office PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible to the Director of the Graduate and Online Admissions Office for the recruitment and admission of students into online undergraduate programs and into graduate programs QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred • Minimum of 1-2 years related experience; experience in admissions, online admissions, employee development/training, student advisement and/or career counseling • Proficient verbal, written, organizational and administrative skills • Ability to work flexible schedule including occasional evenings and Saturdays. • Proficient computer skills, including database management, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office products, will be required. SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS • Must have home computer with reliable internet access suitable for remote work when required • Work occasional evenings/weekends • Maintain security of student application information. • Must be familiar with and put into use current FERPA personal information regulations • Must have valid PA driver's license • Must have a personal car for University travel requirements DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Advise prospective students through the admissions process, including providing detailed information on programs, financial aid availability, registration and student account procedures to ensure enrollment. Connect prospects with other student services offices (Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Registrar, Accessibility, etc.) when appropriate. • Coordinate with third party partners to recruit and enroll online students (both undergraduate and graduate), including telephone and e-mail follow up to assure accurate information is given to prospective online students, and that students are admitted, transfer credits are evaluated and students are enrolled in appropriate classes. • Plan and participate in open houses, including virtual events, and travel to off-site events, such as graduate school fairs and corporate site visits, etc., to represent the University and recruit students. • Work within deadline dates to admit and enroll students at multiple start points per year. • Work cooperatively with all administrative and academic departments to ensure the efficient enrollment of students into appropriate programs. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with program directors and staff within assigned recruitment goals. • Responsible for student progress through all admissions stages, i.e. maintain student databases, ensure appropriate materials are e-mailed/texted out, maintain electronic application records, maintain updated student lists, participate in appointments virtually and in person, lead campus tours, handle all phone, e-mail, text, and mail correspondence with prospective students, and record all student interactions electronically. Walk new students through the registration process and other details to assure a smooth orientation. • Assist with maintaining procedures documents for use by staff and online recruitment partners. Review and update periodically as needed to assure that the document reflects current programs, policies, practices, staff, etc., for programs. • Submit periodic reports on recruitment activities as directed by the Director. • Assign appropriate duties to support staff and work-study students to aid in the enrollment process. • Participate in ongoing training and development activities and professional organizations as appropriate. • Perform other related duties as assigned. • Oversee and/or plan special programs or events as assigned by the Director, Graduate and Online Admissions office.
