The Senior Power BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise Power BI reports and dashboards that drive insight across healthcare operations, finance, and analytics. This role is hands-on and balances advanced report development with ownership of the Power BI environment, including administration, governance, and performance optimization. The position is approximately 70% development and 30% Power BI administration and support. Primary Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards supporting healthcare, financial, and operational analytics. Develop and optimize semantic models, relationships, measures, and calculated columns. Create and maintain complex DAX measures aligned to healthcare KPIs such as utilization, claims, eligibility, quality, and financial performance. Partner with business and clinical stakeholders to translate requirements into clear, actionable analytics. Ensure BI solutions follow best practices for performance, scalability, usability, and security. Administer the Power BI Service, including workspace configuration, security, dataset refreshes, user access, and row-level security. Monitor report and dataset performance and resolve refresh, gateway, and licensing issues. Establish and maintain Power BI standards, documentation, and governance practices. Support deployments across development, test, and production environments. Perform other duties as assigned in support of analytics and business initiatives. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience developing and supporting Power BI solutions. Advanced experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service; experience with Power BI Embedded, Premium, and/or Microsoft Fabric preferred. Strong SQL and T-SQL development skills, including complex queries, data cleansing, and performance tuning. Solid understanding of data modeling and data warehousing principles for relational and dimensional data structures. Experience with Azure-based data platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, Databricks, Data Factory, or Synapse preferred). Strong understanding of Power BI administration, security, row-level security, dataset refresh, gateways, apps, and deployment pipelines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate directly with business stakeholders. Self-directed, analytical problem solver with the ability to own issues end-to-end. Knowledge of HIPAA-compliant environments, PHI protection, and healthcare data security standards. Experience with healthcare data, claims, payers, providers, PBMs, TPAs, or claims adjudication processes preferred. Microsoft Power BI, Azure, or Power Platform certifications preferred. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. Certain roles may be eligible for additional compensation, including bonuses, and merit increases. Additionally, certain roles have the opportunity to receive sales commissions that are based on the terms of the sales commission plan applicable to the role.
