About the position Player 15 Group is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Manager, Event Operations who plays a strategic and leadership-focused role in assisting team members with the planning and implementation of all arena events for primary tenants and outside entities as assigned. This individual must ensure event success and guest satisfaction with an eye for overall management of the arena, its staff, and its equipment. The Senior Manager, Event Operations is also responsible for establishing processes and SOPs for the event management team to execute their work, as well as resources and guides that internal and external teams will use for their event and venue planning. Responsibilities • Offer strategic input and quality process oversight to Event Coordinators and Event Managers during the planning phase of their events reviewing event strategies, helping troubleshoot potential challenges and ensuring consistency and excellence across all events • Regularly attend and support event coverage across the Event Management team offering on-site leadership presence and assistance contributing to overall event success • Have high level knowledge of all management areas (Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, Concerts/Family Shows, non-ticketed events etc.) to assist with larger strategy and operational discussions • Provide thoughtful insight into the development of policies, procedures and solutions in conjunction with the Event Management/Booking leadership team helping lead department initiatives including special projects and cross functional tasks • Serve as a mentor and coach to the Event Coordinators and Event Managers providing guidance, feedback and professional development support • Promote a collaborative, team-first culture where knowledge sharing and mutual support are prioritized over individual ownership • Directly manage Event Managers on the Event Management team • Assist with department budget planning including updating the declining spreadsheet with related expenses throughout the fiscal year • Plan, execute and lead a variety of diverse events as needed (ticketed and nonticketed) and tasks simultaneously ranging from high-profile ticketed events to internal meetings • Lead operational departments in problem-solving and identifying ways to optimize event efficiency in all phases of the event lifecycle including post-event debriefs as necessary to align expectations and gather feedback to enhance team performance and readiness • Clearly define the event’s operational needs and ensure information (including setup sheets, CAD maps and any other event related supporting documents) are timely and accurate to allow other departments to operate efficiently for all events • Manage day-to-day relationships with external vendors and contractors as well as enforce Mortgage Matchup Center policies and procedures with those vendors to ensure compliance with ADA, local and state fire and safety ordinances, NBA/WNBA league requirements etc. • Other duties as assigned Requirements • Proficiency in live event management execution • Proficiency in indirect department/staff management/communication • Communicate changes effectively/efficiently and maintain an in-depth understanding of how event decisions impact various departments • Model a teamwork centered approach to event management while demonstrating a high level of personal accountability and pride in work • Ability to work long/odd hours (including weekends, early mornings/nights and holidays) • Effective time management/manage multiple events simultaneously • Intermediate Microsoft Office applications knowledge including Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Intermediate AutoCAD knowledge • 4-6 years of experience managing large-scale sporting and live events/concerts • 4-6 years of direct management experience • High school diploma or GED, college preferred Benefits • Wide range of full-time benefit options including Medical, Dental and Vision coverages • Life and Disability options • Vacation, sick and holiday leave programs • In-arena work requirements with the potential of hybrid schedules based on each role and department. • Discounts at Fanatics Team Shop • Tickets available for Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury games
