Full Description

Piper Companies is seeking a Security Engineer / Consultant to join a leading cybersecurity team supporting a high-impact customer environment. The Security Engineer / Consultant will focus on securing network infrastructure using Palo Alto Networks technologies, guiding customers through security transformation initiatives. This is an initial 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. This is not a general network engineering or administrative role. Recent experience designing and implementing security solutions with Palo Alto products is required. Responsibilities of the Security Engineer / Consultant include: • Work full-time to support the customer remotely or on-site as needed • Analyze the customer’s current network environment and identify security gaps • Design and implement network security architecture using Palo Alto Networks technologies • Guide customers through security transformation based on Palo Alto best practices • Act as a trusted advisor to customer leadership and technical teams • Lead technical implementation of security solutions, not just execute task lists • Create detailed documentation outlining security recommendations and implementations • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to embed security into infrastructure • Provide strategic consulting and hands-on support when necessary • Communicate effectively with stakeholders including CIOs, CISOs, and technical leads Qualifications for the Security Engineer / Consultant: • Strong experience with Palo Alto Networks products (e.g., firewalls, XSIAM, XSOAR, XDR, Panorama, Prisma) • Proven background in network security architecture and implementation • Experience consulting with customers and leading security transformation initiatives • Ability to assess environments and develop strategic security plans • Excellent communication and presentation skills across technical and executive audiences • BS in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent education/training/experience • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in network security engineering or consulting • Industry certifications such as CISSP, PCNSE, or equivalent are a plus • Familiarity with internetworking, LAN/WAN technologies, and security protocols • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams Compensation for the Security Engineer / Consultant includes: Salary Range: $130,000 - $165,000 Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays Keywords: Security Engineer, Security Consultant, Palo Alto Networks, network security, security architecture, security transformation, cybersecurity strategy, firewall implementation, threat analysis, security best practices, Panorama, Prisma, Zero Trust, security operations, technical consulting, enterprise security, network assessment, security roadmap, security design, security implementation, stakeholder engagement, CISO, CIO, cybersecurity advisor, infrastructure security, hands-on support, documentation, LAN, WAN, internetworking, CISSP, PCNSE
