OPPORTUNITY WITH GLOBAL IMPACT! GROUND FLOOR, EQUITY ROLE. We have been working on something revolutionary and are preparing to launch. We are launching our go to market plans and seeking a highly motivated and experienced data administrative professional to join our team. The Problem: Civic engagement is way too hard! We want to fix that. And positively impact global democracy and the political-media landscape in the process. The Mission: Transform civic engagement! Create a platform where everyone can easily find, vote, and see results for pending legislation they care about, at local/state/national/global levels, including analytics. And that government customers rely on to improve their civic engagement game! The Vision: Make Pinion a global democracy platform that brings it all together so people anywhere can easily find, vote on, and track the same legislation their elected representatives are voting on, then see results - so they feel like their voice is heard and their vote counts. Enable our users and customers to see living results and analytics for their self, organization, city, county, state, nation and planet. See how their friends voted, their community, and of course their elected representatives. PLUS...the candidates hoping to replace them at the next election! Imagine voting in your next election knowing which candidates has voted with you based on actual vote data on topics and legislation you care about rather than political spin. Pinion makes engaging with politics easy, engaging and enlightening for better democracy. Our tech team is building a new platform - web and mobile – to make our civic engagement with government and other organizations better. We are seeking professionals with both practical experience and interest in our mission. The Team: The Pinion team is a small group of motivated professionals who believe in the power of public opinion to improve civic engagement, democracy, and make our world better. We are looking for team players who are motivated, independent, friendly and professional. Our team is currently 15-ish, but growing so we prefer someone who has experience supporting a small, "many hats" team where we all are willing to work on whatever needs attention. We are all remote with weekly team meetings to keep up on track and expect to work asynchronously. Responsibilities and Duties • Drive a project to routinely add new legislation and data to the Pinion platform and retrieve/publish analytic results - manually to begin with and moving towards appropriate automation with high quality results. • Develop operational processes and deliver support for platform users. • Develop operational internal processes and ad-hoc tools, for both Pinion and potential customers. • Develop operational processes and deliver analytics reports covering platfrom usage. • Develop operational processes and deliver analytics reports covering our social media, customer and user outreach. • Develop planning guides and time estimates associated with ingesting and maintaining legislative data and publishing analytic results for Pinion and potential customers. • Help define requirements for customer and community driven legislative data management. • Partner with Pinion Product Management team to develop technical capabilities for ingesting or integrating legislative data from various sources. • Coordinate with Pinion Marketing team to understand how adding and managing new blocks of (legislation data) content to the platform will affect our go-to-market strategies, social media and early customer expectations. • Assist with activities in promoting Pinion to external stakeholders, customers, users, and investors. • Contribute to a prioritized, long-range plan for ultimately managing legislative content at all levels. • Understand and document how customers and users want to interact with legislative content. Qualifications and Soft Skills • Data management experience - data entry, spreadsheets, analytics creation and publishing. • Preferred experience working with APIs and data connectivity tools. • Experience working with social media platform analytics. • Experience with Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) tools. • Interest in politics, democracy, civic engagement processes and legislative content. • Technical background working with large data sets and in databases. • Experience with modern tools for data management and data/content strategy. • Technical degree preferred but not required. Engaged and a Good Fit - Our team is all remote and we are growing virtually withmembers across the US and globally. As such, it requires energy to communicate. So don't be shy. People on our project are mostly part time - this is expected. For the near term future, an ideal candidate should have the time available and bandwidth required - likely fluctuating between 2 to 10 hours per week, occasionally higher. You should be enthused about our mission, and comfortable with our early stage, “boot strapping” startup status. PLEASE NOTE: We are “pre-money/pre-revenue” so NOT yet paying any salaries or spending money on outside vendors. We are a true early stage start up and all working for future equity only (no salaries yet) using the Slicing Pie methodology (www.slicingpie.com) to fairly allocate equity in the company. This role is intended to grow into a full-time salary+bonus+equity position in the future as we gain funding and customer revenues. If all that sounds like a match please apply here as several key people on our team are part of considering your application. Thanks!
