The Learning Experience Designer is responsible for architecting end-to-end learning journeys across Ping Identity’s training ecosystem. This role goes beyond designing single courses: you will own and evolve curriculum pathways that align learner progress with business outcomes, ensuring that our education offering scales strategically and delivers measurable value. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Certification and Curriculum Development, you will act as the bridge between learner experience, curriculum design, and programme strategy - conducting gap analyses, needs assessments, and design reviews to ensure that our offerings are both effective and engaging. Working closely with curriculum leadership, SMEs, Delivery Operations, and cross-functional partners, you will champion quality, retention, and innovation in our learning experience. Key Responsibilities Programmatic Design Lead programmatic design work, ensuring curriculum pathways are structured around learner progression and business priorities rather than standalone courses. Conduct gap analyses and needs assessments to evaluate where learners are at each stage of their journey and define where they need to be by the end. Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Curriculum & Certification, course developers, product managers, graphics and editorial teams to design and maintain the overall curriculum structure for Ping Identity products and solutions. Design learning experiences that increase retention, reduce learner pitfalls, and extend engagement beyond the classroom (e.g., feature deep dives, use-case classes, and refresh sessions). Prototype and test learning experiences, iterating based on analytics and feedback. Define success measures for experiences linked to both learner outcomes and business goals. Mentor junior LXDs to help build team capability. Support course development if capacity allows, but this is NOT the main focus Quality Management & Continuous Improvement Act as the primary point of contact for learning design quality feedback from both learners and stakeholders. Coordinate with Delivery Operations on quality metrics, NPS results, and performance data; conduct deep dives into top- and bottom-performing courses. Collaborate with Delivery Operations to conduct qualitative interviews and analysis to determine job impact, ROI, and areas for course design adjustments. Ensure feedback is systematically assigned to relevant courses and changes are tracked and implemented effectively. Project & Cross-Functional Work Initiate, own, and manage all leaner improvement initiatives to enhance engagement, retention, NPS, and learner satisfaction. Collaborate closely with Delivery Operations, Sales, and the PMO to design and deliver projects that directly contribute to increased bookings and revenue (e.g., learner job aids, one-pagers, supplementary resources). Work closely with the Senior Manager of Curriculum Development to create projects and initiatives that align customer training, product, and documentation teams, minimizing duplication and promoting collaboration. Manage multiple projects with accountability for scoping documents, SME interviews, milestones, and stakeholder communication. Learner-Centred Design Define success measures for learners at each stage of their journey, ensuring experiences are motivating, inclusive, and aligned with skill progression. Design for learner re-engagement - creating pathways for learners to return for advanced, specialised, or refresher sessions. Apply learning science and cognitive theory to create experiences that maximise retention and application in real-world contexts. Skills & Qualifications Essential Bachelor’s degree in Learning Sciences, Instructional Design, Educational Psychology, or related field. 5+ years’ professional experience in instructional or learning design, with strong programmatic and curriculum design exposure. Proven expertise in learner journey mapping, curriculum structuring, and needs/gap analysis.
