3+ years in maintenance or mechanical roles, strong mechanical/electrical knowledge, basic fabrication skills preferred, and familiarity with Lean and CMMS.
Position Overview The Maintenance & Continuous Improvement Technician is responsible for leading preventive maintenance programs, performing hands-on maintenance and repair activities, and supporting process improvement initiatives across the facility. This position plays a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, supporting safe and efficient operations, and contributing to the company’s continuous improvement culture. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong mechanical aptitude, who enjoys both technical maintenance work and participating in improvement projects that enhance quality, productivity, and safety. Key Responsibilities • Maintenance & Equipment Reliability: • Develop and implement preventive maintenance (PM) plans and schedules for production and facility equipment. • Conduct daily inspections, perform basic mechanical and electrical repairs, and coordinate more complex repairs with external vendors. • Train production operators to perform routine PM tasks safely and effectively. • Maintain detailed maintenance records and track equipment downtime trends. • Manage spare parts inventory and support sourcing of critical maintenance supplies. • Support installation and setup of new machinery, fixtures, and equipment. • Continuous Improvement Support: • Actively participate in Kaizen events and cross-functional improvement initiatives. • Assist in developing and fabricating fixtures, jigs, and tooling to improve production quality and efficiency. • Collect and analyze data to identify recurring equipment or process issues. • Serve as a change agent by promoting Lean and 5S principles on the production floor. • Support implementation of corrective actions and process standardization activities. • Facilities & Safety: • Assist with general facility maintenance tasks, including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and building and grounds upkeep. • Support the Quality & CI Manager in ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. • Participate in safety inspections, audits, and corrective follow-up actions. • Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in maintenance, mechanical, or manufacturing support role. • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. • Basic fabrication, welding, and machining experience preferred. • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems is a plus. • Familiarity with Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement principles preferred. • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
