Job Overview We are on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Head Chef and Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary soul food team inside a busy grocery store. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind creating memorable dining experiences, overseeing daily kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. Responsibilities • Lead the development and execution of innovative menus that align with customer preferences. • Supervise all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring consistency and excellence. • Manage inventory control and food production processes to minimize waste while maintaining quality standards. • Oversee food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and compliance with health regulations across all kitchen operations. • Coordinate shift management by scheduling staff efficiently and ensuring smooth workflow during busy periods. • Oversee catering events and services, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality meals in line with client expectations. • Mentor and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment focused on teamwork, skill development, and accountability. Skills • Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in soul food. • Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen or hospitality setting. • Knowledge of dietary requirements and food handling safety standards. • Expertise in food management, including inventory control, food production, and menu planning. • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively. • Experience in banquet service, catering, restaurant management, and shift coordination. • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with staff members and ensure seamless operations across departments.
