Job Overview We are seeking a professional and organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our physical therapy clinic. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of medical office procedures, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and the ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Bilingual skills and prior clinic or medical office experience are highly valued to ensure smooth patient flow and effective communication. Duties • Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression • Verify patient insurance coverage and perform insurance verification • Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software • Collect patient demographics, update medical records, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, including intake procedures and updating care plans • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA standards • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless clinic operations and accurate documentation of patient visits • Collect patient copays and balances Skills • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems but will train • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding • Experience with medical collection processes and insurance verification procedures • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel • Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and bilingual abilities preferred for effective communication with diverse patient populations • Prior experience in a medical or dental office setting is highly desirable • Ability to handle administrative support tasks such as filing, documentation review, health information management, and office management duties • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure the confidentiality and security of protected health information (PHI) This role offers an opportunity to be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team while developing your skills in medical administration within a supportive environment.
