This person will act as a communicator and facilitator—helping form working groups, align business and technical teams, and coach client staff on how to take ownership as data stewards. Key Responsibilities Lead workstreams within projects, and provides hands-on co-creation support. Partner with account executives and solution engineers on scoping and estimating new opportunities. Facilitate data governance working groups to drive alignment between business and technology stakeholders. Execute metadata management activities such as cataloging, lineage capture, and stewardship workflows. Partner with business teams to draft and maintain business rules, definitions, and data quality controls. Apply data quality processes such as profiling, monitoring, and issue management, ensuring rules are practical and adopted. Support the installation, configuration, rollout and adoption of governance/metadata tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Atlan, Purview). Coach client staff on data stewardship practices—showing them how to govern their data effectively and sustainably. Communicate governance concepts in clear business language; prepare presentations, training materials, and adoption guides. Provide input on access controls, privacy, and compliance with regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business owners to embed governance into daily workflows, platform pipelines, modeling practices, and observability. Required Experience 6+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or related roles. 2+ years of previous Consulting leadership experience working with external clients, with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work across a variety of projects. Adept at making technical recommendations that are tied to business outcomes Knowledge of AI Governance, its facets, and how to incorporate into an AI Strategy Has facilitated discovery sessions and workshops, ensuring a focus on business value to keep all participants aligned on the objectives. Demonstrated ability to define and obtain alignment for definition, business rules and data quality controls. Familiarity with governance operating models and stewardship practices. Knowledge of privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and how governance practices support compliance. Ability to coach and mentor others. Proven track record of collaborating with client stakeholders, technology partners, and cross-functional sales and delivery team members across distributed global teams, ensuring seamless, successful project delivery outcomes. Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Why phData?
