Special Education Teacher job at Phaxis. Berville, MI. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with various disabilities, including autism and developmental disabilities. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. The Special Education Teacher will create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth for all students. • Responsibilities* • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs. • Conduct assessments and standardized testing to evaluate student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly. • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to student development. • Utilize effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive classroom environment. • Provide instruction in various settings, including preschool, daycare, and classroom environments. • Adapt lesson plans to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. • Support students in developing social skills and independence. • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding their development. • Requirements* • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. • Valid teaching certification in Special Education. • Experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or other special needs is highly desirable. • Knowledge of IEP development and implementation processes. • Strong skills in behavior management and classroom management techniques. • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people including parents, staff, and community resources. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
