Full Description

Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented HVAC Construction Project Manager to oversee large-scale mechanical projects in government and educational facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, project scheduling, and contract administration, with a proven ability to identify and resolve ambiguities in plans and specifications. Key Responsibilities • Manage and oversee all phases of HVAC construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. • Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify missing details, ambiguities, or code compliance issues. • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other primes to resolve field conflicts. • Prepare change orders for approval, ensuring fair compensation for scope changes, errors, and omissions. • Develop and maintain project schedules, manpower planning, and sequencing of work to minimize delays. • Document and submit claims for additional time and compensation due to delays outside contractor control. • Ensure compliance with NYS Education Department and professional licensing requirements. • Supervise field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain project quality and safety standards. • Maintain clear communication with clients, construction managers, and inspectors. • Prepare progress reports, requisitions, and cost tracking documentation. Pay Negotiable based on Experience. Job Type: Full-time Base Pay: $25.00 per hour People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Education: • Bachelor's (Required) Experience: • HVAC project management, : 5 years (Preferred) • public bidding processes: 5 years (Preferred) • Contractual change order procedures: 5 years (Preferred) • HVAC design: 5 years (Preferred) • HVAC Shop Drawings: 5 years (Preferred) • HVAC Plans: 5 years (Preferred) • interpret architectural/engineering drawings : 5 years (Preferred) • AIA Contract Document: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: • OSHA 10 (Preferred) Ability to Commute: • Floral Park, NY 11001 (Preferred) Work Location: In person
