The U.S. PAXLOVID Hospital Marketing Manager Secondee will accelerate performance in the hospital setting and lead the development of new resources specific to the hospital market. This role involves gathering competitive intel, identifying barriers to prescribing, and managing customer-facing communications.
A BA/BS is required with 4+ years of experience in pharma or relevant fields, along with strong knowledge of the U.S. healthcare market and hospitals. The candidate should possess excellent communication and project management skills, and be able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
WHY PATIENTS NEED YOU Since PAXLOVID’s emergency use authorization on 12/22/21, PAXLOVID has treated approximately 24M US patients at high-risk from progression to severe COVID-19, which can lead to hospitalization and/or death. Now FDA approved and commercialized in the U.S., this novel protease inhibitor remains the gold standard in COVID-19 treatment. Today there is an opportunity to increase treatment rates for eligible patients and bolster PAXLOVID’s leadership position in the marketplace via new clinical data, real-world data, and label indications. WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE The U.S. PAXLOVID Hospital Marketing Manager Secondee will report directly to the U.S. PAXLOVID Customer Facing and Site of Care Lead, to accelerate performance in the hospital setting, as well as other priority customer facing sites of care. The wide variables in dynamic sites of care present complex challenges and barriers to treatment. Patients present to the hospital through the emergency department, as well as the inpatient setting. Formulary addition, stocking, and protocols/pathways/order sets are important in this space. Growth in the hospital market is essential to PAXLOVID’s success. This is an exciting opportunity to work cross-functionally to improve treatment rates and Direct Sales Dollar Share in the hospital and will provide an opportunity to work with the PAXLOVID marketing team. The PAXLOVID Brand team has several strategic priorities that the PAXLOVID Hospital Marketing Manager Secondee will support, including communicating current strategy, messages, and materials to the HSSS team. The PAXLOVID Hospital Secondee will lead development of new resources specific to the hospital market, ultimately focused on improving patient treatment rates and brand performance in the hospital. This role will span treatment settings from hospital inpatient, hospital outpatient pharmacy, & emergency department. Additional Customer Facing projects will also be a focus. HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT Gather and collate competitive intel and in-market insights from the Health and Science System Specialist organization (HSSS) through advisory calls, POA sessions, and other initiatives to inform PAXLOVID Hospital Strategy and execution plan Identify barriers to prescribing, challenges in patient identification, formulary status, product stocking, and treatment protocols Lead development of critical hospital tactics Assess current resources and identifying areas of potential improvement or evolution Lead hospital content creation, RC review and approval and execution aligning with PAXLOVID HCP brand strategy Manage HSSS suite of resources and support role out of updated and new resources to HSSS CFC Support collaboration agreements and plan for third-party partnerships: ACEP, SHM, etc. Leading Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) tracking for top customers and partner with HQ analytics teams to track/measure marketing efforts Review performance against specified goals and KPIs and identifying areas of improvement and acceleration Support brand team HSSS POA meetings, helping to build HSSS brand team presentations and brainstorm new ideas for workshops Partner with IDN Marketing team for compliant and synergistic approach to organized customers Manage Promos process and coordinate across the marketing team to ensure timely loading and active management of promotional pieces Lead customer facing communications via monthly newsletter as well as ad hoc priority communications. Support Speaker Program lead to update hospital specific speaker deck QUALIFICATIONS Must-Have BA/BS required with 4+ years of experience (pharma + relevant experience). Strong knowledge of the US healthcare market required, and specific knowledge of Hospitals. Ability to quickly grasp and understand Hospital/Health System landscape and resonant messages with organized customers. Change agile and dependable; ability to turn around deliverables in a fast-paced environment. Strong project management skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills, including to internal and external senior leaders. Strong strategic skills including creativity and effectiveness in identifying and managing major strategic challenges; can manage through ambiguity. Ability and eagerness to challenge status quo, act decisively and operate successfully in an empowered organization. A commitment to excellence – both in the results achieved and in how they are achieved. Ability to travel to New York HQ and other potential US travel Nice-to-Have MBA/MS with 2+ years of experience. Experience working with Hospitals. NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS The position will be a virtual 12-month secondment following standard Pfizer secondee requirements with the colleague working mostly from home. Travel to New York Headquarters located at Hudson Yards one time per month for an average of 2-3 days per visit would be part of this secondment. Other travel may arise such as sales meetings, medical conferences. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $112 700,00 to $187 800,00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15,0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
