The Sr. Director, Oncology Cross-Portfolio Medical Access Strategy Lead for the Oncology Medical Outcomes group develops the strategy to align the evolving needs of our oncology portfolio to support and optimize patient access and high quality care. Role Responsibilities Develop the medical access strategy for the Oncology portfolio to improve efficiencies and shared learnings across TA in collaboration with HQ medical teams and TA strategy leads Serve as a strategy lead between the Medical above brand teams, the Outcomes field team, cross-portfolio marketing teams, RWE, HV&E teams Build tools and framework to appropriately prioritize the needs of the customer and of Pfizer Oncology to develop and implement objective and scientifically sound Real World Evidence-based outcomes tools (such as HOPEs and educational programs) which identify the greatest opportunities for improving patient care, closing quality gaps, and addressing population health management Partner with the medical LT to develop and execute above brand strategies across the oncology portfolio Compliantly integrate understanding of clinical, Health Information Technology (HIT), market, and account considerations to develop and execute mutually beneficial customer-specific projects, collaborations, strategic medical partnerships, and non-interventional studies with the goal of advancing quality of care and improving patient outcomes Provide Oncology Medical support and guidance for HIT initiatives including initial assessment, triaging opportunities for review, assessing organizational capabilities and feasibility, and providing clinical relevance to proposed HIT methodologies Analyze workflows in the context of clinical healthcare information systems to facilitate care processes to reduce care gaps, improve care efficiencies, and maximize quality and population health Facilitate development of clinical content that embodies the clinical perspective while effectively using information technology to develop strategy and build innovative tools and resources Support development of HIT/clinical informatics specific resources Serve as members of internal teams to further the impact of Field Medical Outcomes by creating tools, resources, and educational materials for use both internally and externally Represent Pfizer Oncology Medical Affairs leadership with select clinical/professional associations and/or societies, consistently demonstrating medical professionalism in all interactions Enhance customer recognition of Pfizer Oncology Medical through collaborative projects and publications Awareness of approved medical content on Pfizer’s Oncology products in the designated therapeutic area, with a primary focus on organized customers Keep abreast of medical and scientific developments across the portfolio by continuously reviewing literature in the field, evolving competitive landscape, networking with experts and attending assigned conferences Compliantly collaborate with internal Pfizer colleagues (including Key Account Managers, Account Directors, PHI, Field Medical, Headquarters Medical, and HEOR) to understand the outcomes of interest and data analysis needs Understand the principles of study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation to set strategy and develop resources Maintain significant market and customer knowledge in an increasingly complex and dynamic marketplace Manage a significant volume of projects, while exhibiting the ability to prioritize, successfully implement, and demonstrate excellent judgment skills and work in a continuous improvement environment Maintain an up-to-date status for internal training requirements Develop strategy and operational processes to optimize OMO population health resource development & utilization Qualifications · Required Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, MS) PharmD, PhD, or equivalent terminal doctoral degree (e.g., Doctor of Nursing Practice, Doctor of Physical Therapy) highly preferred · Relevant experience required: PharmD/PhD with 8+ years of experience; MBA/MSc with 10+ years of experience, BA/BSc with 15+ years of experience · Demonstrated leadership capabilities in strategic thinking, problem solving, influencing without authority, and decision-making skills in a matrix organization. · Proven track record of success being a high-level independent and team contributor to lead multiple projects and processes. · Exceptional communication skills in order to present complex issues to senior leadership and contribute to high-level presentations and discussions. · Strong collaborative experience in building relationships and influencing internal, and external colleagues across multiple functions (Commercial and Medical). · Solid understanding of the payer healthcare environment and formulary decision making process. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated technical and scientific expertise in Oncology/Hematology is strongly preferred An additional degree in health economics, health outcomes, health policy or public health Field based medical experience in the pharmaceutical industry Ability to communicate effectively with external customers involved in evidence-based healthcare decisions, including but not limited to managed care organizations, pharmacy benefit managers, specialty pharmacies, compendia publishers, guideline bodies and health technology assessment entities Thorough knowledge of managed care, pharmacoeconomics, disease management, and medical research Understanding of the complex business environment within the US healthcare system as well as emerging healthcare trends Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are required (including ability to network), strong personal integrity; teamwork abilities and a customer focus sense of urgency are necessary. Experience analyzing health care data (claims, electronic health records, other health care data) Expertise in Clinical Informatics or Health Information Technology (HIT), including working with claims data sets or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Experience in the clinical, functional, and technical application of health information technology used in the U.S. Experience with optimization/customization of EHR platforms, including developing EHR clinical solutions Leadership in innovative project start-up and management Understanding of the complex business environment within the US healthcare system as well as emerging healthcare trends Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact. NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS Maintain flexibility to travel up to 30% of time to internal and external customer meetings Work Location Assignment: Remote - Field Based The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $341,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
