The Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for driving business growth through strong customer relationships, technical expertise, and strategic sales initiatives. This role develops and manages OEM and Tier customer relationships, identifies new business opportunities, and ensures that Peter-Lacke solutions meet customer expectations. The Technical Sales Manager will also focus on expanding business with Korean OEM and Tier customers, ensuring strong alignment with overall company objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Identify and develop new business at the OEM and Tier level that fits Peter-Lacke’s long-term strategies in USA and Canada • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals. • Responsible for overseeing daily customer activities such as inventory control and process management. Support customer engineering trial activities, program management and improve line performance. • Maintains relationships with clients along with negotiating and closing deals • Work closely with the customer in identifying potential or immediate problems; proposing corrective actions, which bring problem resolution to closure. • Provides timely written communications including monthly reports, summarizing major customer contacts and meeting results, along with action plans to ensure that accurate information is available to facilitate strategic decision making within the Peter Lacke organization. • Serves as a resource for gathering market information, competitive analysis, benchmarking data to assist in setting and developing sales strategies. • Contributes to overall team effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary, recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives. • Responsible for monitoring production standards and implementing appropriate quality control measures. Activities will involve data collecting, problem solving and communications with all levels of management for assigned accounts • Complies with all standard policies and procedures for health and safety. • Promotes and uses the elements of the companies’ quality system by being familiar with its philosophy and disciplines. This position as with all positions in the company has the responsibility and authority to prevent the occurrence or reoccurrence of product nonconformity. • Travel is up to 75% depending on business needs Qualifications: • Bachelor’s in Science Degree or equivalent of education and 3+ years of automotive coatings experience. • Strong organizational and planning skills • Knowledge of principals and methods for strategic development • Knowledge of customer service methods for coatings customers • Exhibit strong skills in paint applications, automated coating systems and material handling equipment. • Ability to work effectively under fast-paced, time sensitive environment with shifting priorities. • Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to present recommendations and summarize issues.
