We're seeking a detail-oriented professional who can provide essential administrative assistance to nurse case managers while ensuring timely identification of high-dollar concerns and case management needs. As our Triage Specialist, you'll play a vital role in monitoring referrals, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting case managers in delivering quality care coordination. This flexible position is ideal for candidates seeking reduced hours while making meaningful impact. This is a part-time position up to 29 hours a week. Employees may be required to work evening and weekend shifts. What makes this role different: ✓ Flexible schedule: Reduced hours with evening and weekend availability as needed to support healthcare operations ✓ Critical triage role: Review referrals to identify high-dollar concerns and case management needs requiring immediate attention ✓ Stop Loss coordination: Provide accurate Stop Loss notification for potential high-dollar claims supporting financial risk management ✓ Technology proficiency: Work with multiple software systems including UM Web and El Dorado for comprehensive case tracking What You'll Actually Do Manage referral triage: Review referrals to identify possible high-dollar concerns and case management needs while uploading case referrals for potential case management intervention. Create and maintain cases: Establish cases in computer software program while performing accurate data entry and maintaining complete, detailed documentation in software systems. Coordinate Stop Loss notifications: Provide accurate Stop Loss notification for potential high-dollar claims ensuring timely communication of financial concerns. Support nurse case managers: Deliver administrative support to assigned nurses while monitoring cases under high-dollar case type and closing cases when no further needs are identified. Meet performance standards: Achieve productivity, quality, and turnaround time requirements on daily, weekly, and monthly basis while meeting established metrics consistently. Maintain operational excellence: Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance and punctuality while adapting to changing priorities in fast-paced environment. Qualifications What You Bring to Our Mission The foundational experience: Associate degree preferred in business, management, or related field Prior experience in customer service and/or medical background Prior insurance and/or claims background preferred Experience in medical front office, hospital patient intake, medical claims processing, or equivalent combination of education and experience The technical competencies: Experience with medical terminology; completion of medical terminology course preferred Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT & HCPCS coding desirable Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Experience with UM Web and El Dorado systems preferred Accurate data entry skills (40wpm minimum) The professional qualities: Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent interpersonal abilities Ability to work independently with excellent judgment and decision-making capabilities Highly adaptable to change with flexibility to meet evolving business needs Strong customer orientation with commitment to supporting case management team Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Capability to make cold calls when needed for case coordination Comfortable with evening and weekend availability as required to support operations Why You'll Love It Here We believe in total rewards that actually matter—not just competitive packages, but benefits that support how you want to live and work.
