Role Overview The Director of Communications, reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, is responsible for shaping, protecting, and advancing Optimal Blue’s reputation through integrated external and internal communications. This leader will champion and operationalize Optimal Blue's thought leadership efforts by transforming proprietary data, expert insights, and executive perspectives into compelling, credible narratives. The role leads earned media, public relations, crisis communications, spokesperson programs, internal communications, and several flagship, thought leadership platforms. As a strategic advisor to senior leadership, this person ensures confident, consistent messaging across press, events, employees, owned channels, and leadership platforms. The target compensation range for this position is between $150,000.00 and $175,000.00 USD per annum. Key Responsibilities: Market Leadership & Strategic Narrative Own and execute the communications strategy, translating market data and expertise into authoritative narratives. Develop core corporate messaging, executive frameworks, and positioning that guide all external and internal communications. Provide strategic oversight for high visibility content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and narrative alignment. External Communications & PR Lead earned media strategy; build and manage reporter relationships and PR agency partnerships to secure impactful coverage. Oversee press release strategy to ensure purposeful, differentiated, and aligned external announcements. Lead industry award submissions to strengthen brand credibility and third-party validation. Direct enterprise-wide crisis communications planning and response. Thought Leadership & Executive Visibility Provide strategic leadership for the Market Advantage monthly report. Develop and manage companywide spokesperson and speaker programs. Build content and editorial strategy for the company podcast. Guide executive visibility across channels including LinkedIn and industry events. Internal & Change Communications Lead internal communications, including town halls, ensuring employees are aligned to the same narratives presented externally. Support organizational transformation and strategic initiatives with clear, empathetic change communications. Measurement, Integration & Leadership Define and track communications success metrics using data-driven insights. Partner closely with marketing leaders across functions to ensure integrated, strategically aligned messaging. Oversee content development across earned media, thought leadership, internal communications and executive platforms. Qualifications 10+ years' experience in communications, public relations, or corporate reputation roles. Strong track record in earned media, thought leadership, and executive visibility. Experience in highly regulated, data-rich, or complex industries; relevant mortgage/housing industry experience required. Exceptional writing, storytelling, and executive level advisory skills. Proven experience leading client and crisis communications. Ability to manage agencies, collaborate cross functionally, and drive unified communications strategies. FLSA Designation (US Only): Exempt Salary Range: The estimated base salary range for this role is $144,000.00 - $176,000.00 per year. We include salary ranges in job postings only where required by applicable pay transparency laws, based on the jurisdictions in which the role may be performed. The posted range is a good faith estimate and reflects factors that are subject to change. Final offer amounts may vary based on job-related factors, including work location, candidate experience and expertise, and other relevant considerations. Other Compensation (US Only): This role will also be eligible for participation in a Company profit sharing bonus plan. Sales positions may be eligible to participate in the business commission plan. Plan details will be provided to you upon hire.
