Job TitleProject Coordinator Location(s)Alexion (New Haven) - Customer Site CT, US Remote - CT Job Description Summary: The OneSource Project Coordinator develops project plans, organizing resources, and managing day-to-day operations to ensure deliverables are met on time, within scope, and within budget. The project coordinator acts as a central point of contact among team members, stakeholders, and vendors, facilitating clear communication and efficient collaboration. The project Coodinator will work with the global project team and help facilitate global alignment. Secondary, the project coordinator is the point of contact for equipment maintenance in liaison with team and customer lab staff, facilitating scheduling of OEM / Vendor visits for maintenance and/or repair. First line of support for operations workorders; reporting any concerns and ensuring these are closed out in a timely fashion. Is responsible for supporting and executing all phases of small-scale projects from initiation through completion. Job Responsibilities Serve as a central contact for lab staff, scientists, management, and external vendors, ensuring effective communication on project updates, requirements, and changes. Organize and facilitate project meetings, record detailed meeting minutes, and monitor action items and deliverables within the lab environment. Monitor day-to-day project progress, proactively identify minor issues (such as equipment or reagent delays), and escalate significant risks to lab management as needed. Assist with coordinating procurement and timely delivery of laboratory supplies, equipment, and services to support project needs. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements by supporting risk assessments, audits, and protocol adherence throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain up-to-date and audit-ready project documentation, including experimental data, reports, and compliance records. Contribute to process improvement initiatives within laboratory operations, sharing ideas and supporting implementation as appropriate. Provide general administrative and logistical support to lab management or scientific teams to facilitate efficient project execution. Coordinate and support laboratory project activities from planning through execution and completion, ensuring that all work aligns with lab protocols and timelines. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, track milestones, and ensure accurate documentation of laboratory activities and results. Point of contact for equipment maintenance in liaison with team and customer lab staff, facilitating scheduling of OEM / Vendor visits for maintenance and/or repair. First line of support for operations workorders; reporting any concerns and ensuring these are closed out in a timely fashion, i.e., assigning work tasks to workflow specialist. Meet via Teams with laboratory service providers to ensure open lines of communication and identify, review, and resolve issues in a timely manner and/or escalate as necessary. Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment. Visits on a periodic basis to Alexion sites (Quarterly or semi-annual). Critical Skills: Strong communication and training skills Excellent organizational skills; ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently Ability to follow oral and written directions Basic experience with MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Science with 1+ years of project management experience Associate’s Degree in Business or Science with 3+ years of project management experience High School Degree/GED with 7+ years of project management experience Preferred Qualifications: PMP or other professional Project Management Certification Solid understanding of how R&D laboratories function and proven track record of supporting those activities at various complexity levels Background in a laboratory setting with a Chemistry/Biology focus Working Environment: Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.) in laboratory. Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high. Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of the time The person needs to occasionally move between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsite Frequently operate on instruments, objects, tools or controls, which will require regularly bending, squatting, stretching and reaching in order to perform in a service function. Occasionally move or lift up to 25 pounds (potential for occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds). Specific vision abilities required by this position include without limitation, the ability to observe details at close range distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in order to perform the essential service functions of this position. Occasionally operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Employee may be required to handle hazardous waste according to local, state, and federal regulations. Duties may include identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing and labeling hazardous waste. Potential risk to lab-based hazards including but not limited to extreme temperature, biological materials, and hazardous chemicals. May be required to complete Medical Clearance, Respiratory Protection Training, and Fit Testing to wear a respirator as protection against hazards present in the laboratory environment. The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $(68,000) to $(69,500). The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
