Job Overview As our Lifecycle Email Marketing Manager, you will design and run the communication systems that guide people through some of the most important decisions of their lives. These journeys span onboarding, education, engagement, reactivation, and referral across multiple service lines. Your work will shape how we earn trust, share clarity, and nurture long-term relationships at scale. You will turn fragmented touchpoints into cohesive customer journeys that help people understand what to expect, what is needed, and where they are going. This is a high-volume environment with complex routing, behavioral triggers, and multi-brand paths. You will build programs that support hundreds of thousands of people each month with accuracy, empathy, and measurable performance. This is a remote-first role for someone who can design systems, write with clarity, analyze with rigor, and communicate with heart. Responsibilities What You’ll Focus On: Lifecycle Strategy and Journey Design Build comprehensive lifecycle programs across onboarding, education, nurture, conversion, retention, reactivation, and referral. Create journeys that accommodate multiple conditions, multiple LOBs, and multiple regulatory boundaries while keeping communication simple and supportive. Architect flows that help people move through our ecosystem with confidence, clarity, and a sense of agency. Ensure all communication aligns with the Do It Right, Say It Right principles and uses plain language that supports understanding. Message Development and Email Craft Write approachable, clear, human-centered emails that help individuals understand what happens next. Develop high-volume sequences that scale without feeling automated or transactional. Create messages that speak respectfully to Veterans and people with disabilities, recognizing the emotional weight of their journey and the complexity of the VA’s evidence-driven process. Partner with content and creative to translate concepts into messages that educate, motivate, and guide. Testing and Optimization Design structured experiments that improve open rates, click rates, conversion behavior, and referral participation. Build subject line frameworks, CTA frameworks, send-time tests, segmentation experiments, and multivariate content patterns. Develop experiments that read audience signals and refine message clarity. Implement feedback loops to measure each stage of the lifecycle, from first touch to completed engagement. Referral and Advocacy Growth Architect and scale a structured referral engine that becomes a durable and predictable source of new customers. Build educational flows that help people understand how to refer others, what happens next, and why it matters. Design recognition and celebration moments that feel authentic rather than transactional. Increase referral velocity by identifying and activating key moments in the customer lifecycle. Audience Segmentation and Behavioral Triggers Create segments based on behavior, condition, service line, readiness, and engagement patterns. Collaborate with the Head of Demand Generation and Paid Media to unify audience insights across paid, email, and content. Build triggers that reflect real human behavior and real steps in the evidence process. Ensure all segmentation complies with federal regulations, medical boundaries, and internal compliance guidelines. Data Fluency and Cross-Stack Collaboration Work closely with the Marketing Operations Lead and Marketing Performance Analyst to ensure event data, routing logic, and behavioral triggers fire accurately. Use the revenue intelligence stack (Snowflake, Atlan, Sigma) to validate program performance, segment reliability, and lift. Translate data into messaging decisions, identifying opportunities to simplify journeys and improve movement through the funnel. Participate in attribution conversations to ensure lifecycle impact is visible and understood. AI-Native Workflow Comfort Work with AI-native workflows to accelerate idea generation, journey mapping, segmentation logic, and performance diagnostics. Use MCP, Magenta programs, and structured workflow models to reduce cycle time and increase testing velocity. Maintain clarity that medical evidence, legal boundaries, and compliance-sensitive communication remain entirely human-led. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with product, content, paid media, and operations to build cohesive cross-channel experiences. Ensure lifecycle communications align with the experience inside BenefitKarma, Trajector Medical, Trajector Disability, and Outreach Legal. Support new products, new services, and new initiatives with tailored lifecycle journeys that reflect each audience’s needs. Qualifications What You Bring: Deep experience designing, writing, and optimizing lifecycle programs in high-volume, high-velocity environments. A portfolio of journeys that demonstrate clarity, thoughtfulness, experimentation, and measurable performance improvements. Proven success building nurture systems that balance education, motivation, and empathy. Comfort working across multiple lines of business with distinct audiences, messaging boundaries, and compliance considerations. A strong grasp of behavioral triggers, event-driven workflows, and segmentation logic. Demonstrated ability to partner with analysts, developers, and operations teams to ensure accurate data, clean tracking, and reliable flow logic. Experience running rigorous A/B and multivariate tests that improve downstream conversion. Skill in writing clear, plain-language email content that builds trust and reduces confusion. Ability to work comfortably in a remote, distributed environment with cross-functional partners.
