In this exciting role, you'll support governments and civil society actors worldwide to launch participatory climate initiatives that empower communities, amplify marginalized voices, and shape environmental policies that are both equitable and actionable. You'll be stepping into a high-impact, globally connected role by designing and delivering interactive learning experiences, supporting participants as they develop real-world climate projects, and creating practical resources—from toolkits to videos—that turn democratic climate ideals into action. From Himalayan citizens' assemblies restoring forests to participatory agriculture projects in Zimbabwe, you'll help partners design inclusive, locally driven climate solutions. Requirements Program development and support (75%) • Program planning and design: Plans, develops, and coordinates capacity-building program curriculum and activities with other staff members and partners, and supports impact tracking and evaluation for such programs • Course planning and delivery: Plans and delivers webinars, workshops, and online courses with other staff and partners, including facilitation plans, webinar logistics, and other delivery tasks • Curricula content and resources development: Creates, compiles, and coordinates content for curricula and resources focused on climate democracy, synthesizing knowledge on best practices into actionable and practical guidance. Plans and supports the creation of multimedia content such as videos, graphics, and presentations in collaboration with the Communications Coordinator • Program participant coordination and support: Recruit, onboard, and manage participants for learning opportunities, with other staff members. Support participants and alumni in effectively using People Powered resources and capacity-building programs through regular communication, problem-solving, and reminders. Foster and coordinate community interactions through the learning management system Communications (5%) • Content development: Create multimedia content such as blog posts, graphics and videos to promote capacity-building activities and resources Community-building (5%) • Partnerships and member activities: Support the engagement with member organizations, as well as the delivery of member workshops and activities by participating in external discussions, webinars, and other online and in-person engagement opportunities Organizational management and general (15%) • Participate in organization-wide meetings, retreats, and other activities. Contribute and review content, provide feedback on plans and proposals, and have fun with our team! Essential Experience and Skills • At least 4 years of relevant experience in project management, training delivery, or community engagement for nonprofit or nongovernmental organizations • Demonstrated experience and/or interest in participatory democracy and/or climate issues. • Demonstrated experience with instructional design, online facilitation, and/or training platforms and associated tools and systems (Zoom and learning management platforms). • Alignment with the People Powered mission and values • Excellent writing and communication skills in English, including the ability to communicate complex information in clear, compelling, and accessible ways that translate well across languages and contexts • Excellent teamwork skills, and the ability and desire to collaborate with people from diverse cultures, being mindful of and sensitive about cultural differences and power dynamics • Strong project management and organizational skills, ability to work independently and juggle multiple projects and deliverables, including familiarity with project and task management systems (for example, Asana, Airtable) and Google Workspace products (or similar) Desirable • Proficiency in another language, such as French, Spanish, or Portuguese is a plus • A flexible and growth-oriented mindset • Experience working remotely in a virtual setting and across multiple time zones We understand that there are a wide variety of paths toward the skills necessary for the position. Salary: • $63,500 - $79,000 USD annual salary adjusted for local cost of living. The salary advertised is for locations with the highest cost of living globally and will differ based on the candidate's city and country, as well as years of experience and additional skills (for example languages).
