Own the Privacy function end-to-end, including company-wide policies and training, and engage with customers on privacy-related matters. Lead compliance initiatives for various privacy laws and oversee privacy assessments and contractual reviews.
5-7 years of experience in privacy and data protection, with a strong understanding of GDPR and U.S. state privacy laws is required. Experience with raw data providers and relevant certifications are preferred.

After 4.5 years of work building our Privacy function from scratch, our Privacy leader is off to their next adventure. We are looking for an experienced Privacy professional to carry the work forward and ensure we remain the preferred data provider of privacy and compliance-first companies. There is a great deal of nuance involved in navigating state, federal, and international data privacy laws, particularly for a raw data provider. Our customers expect a real human being willing to speak candidly with them about their privacy questions, concerns, and workflows. This role is equal parts behind the scenes workflows, privacy-focused project management, and externally facing thought leadership with customers. We are looking for someone who can make complex discussions feel easy for customers of all backgrounds to engage with. Roles and Responsibilities Own our Privacy function end-to-end, ranging from company-wide policies and training (we have in-house training design resources), to external engagements with current and potential customers Serve as the designated privacy and security officer under GDPR and lead compliance initiatives for CCPA/CPRA, NY SHIELD Act, and other emerging privacy laws Own and maintain the company’s Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) and ensure its accuracy and availability Lead internal privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) Develop, maintain, and implement company-wide privacy policies, procedures, and training programs Monitor global legal and regulatory developments and proactively assess their impact on current and future operations Represent PDL to other data companies working together to navigate the privacy landscape Oversee and guide contractual data privacy reviews, including Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), and vendor privacy addenda Act as the primary point of contact for EU/EEA Supervisory Authorities, Data Subjects, and external auditors Collaborate with our IT & Security Team to ensure alignment between privacy and cybersecurity protocols Lead or support the company’s response to data subject access requests (DSARs) Advise our product and engineering teams on privacy-by-design and default principles in the development of new features Professional Requirements 5-7 years of relevant experience in privacy, data protection, or regulatory compliance, with a strong track record in GDPR and U.S. state privacy laws Experience working with a raw data provider or data-focused products strongly preferred Strong understanding of international data privacy frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, NY SHIELD Act, and evolving global laws CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or other IAPP certifications preferred Demonstrated experience leading a privacy program or a significant portion of a privacy program Excellent legal, business, and technical judgment, with strong stakeholder management skills Ability to thrive with a great deal of autonomy and ownership in your role Our Benefits Stock Competitive Salaries Unlimited paid time off Medical, dental, & vision insurance Health, fitness, and office stipends The permanent ability to work wherever and however you want Comp: $140K - $160K, depending on experience level No C2C, 1099, or Contract-to-Hire.
