The Dental Assistant Adjunct provides instructional support and constructive feedback to students to help them meet learning objectives. They are responsible for answering student inquiries via email and phone, participating in accreditation, and engaging in grading projects as needed.
Candidates must have completed a dental assistant training program, with an associate degree preferred, and have at least 2 years of experience in the field. Certification as a RDA or CDA is required, and previous teaching experience is preferred.
Position Summary: The Dental Assistant Adjunct is responsible for providing instructional support through constructive, focused feedback to ensure students meet the established learning objectives. The primary function of the Adjunct will be responsible for answering emails for students and assisting with program related questions through distance education technologies. Essential Job Functions: Objectively and accurately evaluate subjective exams against established grading keys and rubrics by providing effective, and constructive feedback to students that helps them see what needs improvement, as well as what was done well Answer student questions via email Respond to internal emails within 24 hours during the week and within 48 hours on the weekend Participate in accreditation as needed Participate in special grading projects as needed Answer student questions via phone (through scheduled appointments only) Participate in all policies required by Penn Foster including but not limited to Professional Development Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Required to complete a dental assistant training program, associates degree preferred Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Dental Assistant field Must be certified as a RDA or CDA Previous teaching experience preferred.
