Full Description

The Food Coordinator is responsible for coordinating with operations and other applicable departments to implement PCHS’s food program, which includes supporting PCHS’s Food Rx, medical respite food coordination, and community meal center initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Coordinate food services and nutrition-related activities, including health education, in alignment with program goals • Coordinate with community partners to accomplish food program objectives • Collaborate with PCHS providers and program staff to ensure food offerings meet dietary and cultural needs • Manage food ordering, inventory, storage, and distribution processes to ensure accuracy and compliance • Monitor food quality, safety, and sanitation practices according to local, state, and federal guidelines • Assist with food program vendor relations, including communication, documentation, and issue resolution • Maintain accurate records, reports, and data related to food services and participant utilization • Support outreach efforts to improve participant access to nutrition services and food resources • Ensure compliance with applicable nutrition program policies, procedures, and funding requirements • Support PCHS’s development and advocacy initiatives that back PCHS’s food program • Participate in staff training, program evaluations, and continuous quality improvement activities Other duties as assigned • Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no direct reports. Compensation: starting wage $20.32 to 28.13/hr.* • Taking into account education and experience related to the position • Qualifications • Experience working in school nutrition and community food programs • Experience working in food retail industry • ServSafe Manager Certification • Current Food Handlers Permit Skills Must have excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team; to receive and respond well to feedback. Possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; time-management and organizational skills, including being punctual, responsive, and efficient. Perform job with professionalism and good judgment. Work Environment and Physical Demands With multiple locations and settings, PCHS’ work environment and physical demands vary greatly depending on the employee’s role. Essential job functions include the following: The employee is required to talk, hear, see, smell, sit and stand. The employee is frequently required to move around the facility; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
