Full Description

This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections. We are looking for a volunteer with experience in business development and/or nonprofit fundraising to help our team create our 2026 development strategy. This practical one-year fundraising strategy should be tailored to a start-up nonprofit with limited capacity. The volunteer will co-create a prioritized set of fundraising approaches, a timeline, high-level resource needs, a donor or customer communication outline, and simple success metrics. A clear, realistic fundraising plan will enable sustainable resources so we can expand mental health support, safe spaces, education, and advocacy for MENASA youth. Volunteer contributions will directly increase capacity to reduce stigma, improve access to services, and strengthen long-term program reach. We will work collaboratively with the volunteer, share existing materials and context, and participate in regular check-ins to refine the plan. Volunteers can expect open communication and input from leadership as needed to make the plan actionable and realistic. Peer Minds Mission: Our mission is to empower Middle Eastern, North African and South Asian (MENASA) youth by providing resources, support, and safe spaces to address mental health and addiction challenges. Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, we aim to break down stigma, encourage seeking help, and foster resilience. We strive to create a future where every MENASA youth feels valued, understood, and empowered on their journey to mental wellness.
