Materials Handler III Location: Chantilly, VA Company: PDS Defense, Inc. Job ID: 214577 Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a certified Materials Handler III with expertise in AS9100 compliance to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This role is critical to ensuring efficient material management, accurate documentation, and adherence to aerospace industry quality standards. Key Responsibilities • Materials Management: • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against documentation. • Label and store materials properly, ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards. • Conduct inventory audits, reconcile discrepancies, and report issues promptly. • Implement proper storage techniques to maintain material integrity. • Documentation & Record Keeping: • Maintain accurate records of material transactions, including lot and serial numbers. • Prepare and update packing lists, bills of lading, and inventory reports. • Ensure all documentation meets AS9100 requirements. • AS9100 Compliance: • Apply AS9100 standards in all material handling activities. • Support audits and inspections, providing required documentation. • Identify process improvements to enhance compliance and efficiency. • Team Collaboration: • Work closely with procurement, production, and quality assurance teams. • Communicate material availability, shortages, and delivery schedules. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications preferred). • AS9100 certification required. • Proven experience in material handling, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing. • Strong knowledge of AS9100 standards and compliance practices. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Proficiency in inventory management software and documentation tools. • Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely; experience with material handling equipment. • Effective communication and teamwork skills. • Familiarity with Lean principles and continuous improvement is a plus.
