Overview The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the CDC Division of Laboratory Systems’ Training and Workforce Development Branch (TWDB) in the design, development, and modernization of the Laboratory Director University (LDU) training program. This position is responsible for leading agile project management efforts, coordinating cross-functional teams, and driving strategic initiatives to deliver high-quality, accessible online laboratory training resources. The Project Manager will ensure that all training deliverables meet CDC’s Quality Training Standards and support the continuous improvement of training processes and outcomes. Responsibilities Enhance TWDB’s capacity to efficiently design engaging, accessible online laboratory training materials. Support training design and delivery, agile project management, training process analysis, user-centered design, innovation, and strategic communication. Contribute to the execution of DLS work by providing expertise in coordinating, implementing, and promoting online training materials. Identify and implement measures to expedite LDU development and implementation. Identify gaps and inefficiencies in current training production processes and provide recommendations to optimize course production for maximum efficiency. Implement and assess the effectiveness of modernization recommendations, focusing on human-centered design, diversity, and accessibility. Develop tactical roadmaps and multi-year plans for project selection, initiation, and expansion. Configure trainings to meet LMS technical requirements and update systems to reflect new production processes. Create portfolio management plans for real-time visibility into projects, partnerships, and financial mechanisms. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Public Health, Education, Project Management, Business Administration, or similar). Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in project management, preferably in training development, instructional design, or public health initiatives. Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deliverables. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and facilitate collaboration among subject matter experts. Experience with learning management systems (LMS), online training development, and process improvement. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Familiarity with federal regulations (e.g., CLIA), CDC Quality Training Standards, and Section 508 compliance is highly desirable. Experience in strategic planning, change management, and modernization of training programs is a plus. Pay Range USD $140,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr.
