Job Summary: The Vice President/CMO for Venmo, will lead the end-to-end marketing strategy and function, inclusive of growth, brand, product marketing, media, martech and partnerships. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer for PayPal and partnering closely with the General Manager of Venmo, this commercially-driven leader will be at the forefront of revenue growth and customer engagement through cutting-edge marketing strategies and creative campaigns. This is a high-visibility leadership role, with direct exposure to C-level discussions on a frequent basis and oversight of a $XXXM marketing budget. Job Description: What You’ll Do Oversee the strategy, development, and execution of all Venmo marketing initiatives. Build a robust marketing strategy – inclusive of performance/growth, brand, product marketing, creative – that shines a spotlight on Venmo’s platform and offerings to accelerate growth. Develop and execute data-driven, customer-first growth and lifecycle strategies aligned with Venmo’s business objectives. Conduct market research and predictive analytics to identify emerging trends, high-value customer segments, and untapped opportunities. Effectively model and measure marketing impact, anticipating trends and events that will present opportunities for growth – and capitalizing on those opportunities. Help build, develop, and coach a world-class marketing team as the business continues on a path of rapid expansion and growth. Foster team development and a team culture of learning and curiosity. Use data and personalization to drive brand messaging and sales and encourage fresh thinking in the development of compelling marketing programs that attract new customers and retain existing. Serve as a trusted leader and advisor on the Venmo leadership team, bringing perspective and ideas to strategic business discussions. Collaborate across the organization and with key partners on the leadership team – product, finance, engineering and sales – and help bring disparate teams together to collectively advance Venmo’s vision and growth objectives. Oversee large agency relationships, ensuring Venmo can leverage best-in-class strategies and maintain a competitive edge. Lead, inspire and grow an exceptional team of 35+ and be a culture driver and carrier across the organization. Candidate Profile Who You Are A marketing leader who can balance data, analytics and performance marketing capabilities with creative and brand to tell compelling stories that activate and motivate new and existing users. A strategic thinker and operator able to navigate complex customer journeys market dynamics business objectives to drive revenue growth. An outstanding marketing strategist who also has a bias for action and execution, constantly taking initiative and proactively looking for new opportunities to advance brand and business objectives. A dynamic leader skilled in building scaling mentoring high-performance marketing teams. What You’ll Bring 15+ years of diverse, functional marketing experience – with an emphasis on growth/commercial marketing capability. Experience leading marketing in both growing and large-scale consumer businesses. Proven track record in managing large scale marketing budgets and agency relationships. Strong executive presence stakeholder management skills with experience presenting at the C-suite board level. Passion for customer-centric strategy – with experience in generating qualitative and quantitative insights and using those insights to inform marketing strategies, product experiences and value propositions – will be key. The ability to distil complex information and strategies into understandable, actionable, persuasive messages and strategies. Experience in consumer tech fintech e-commerce or other data-rich industries is a strong plus.
