We’re seeking a dynamic professional who’s passionate about trails and active transportation (walking and biking) to join our small, dedicated team. This new position is grant-funded through October 2028 and will have a key role in our Liberty Bell Trailblazers project. Objective: Champion the advancement of the Liberty Bell Trail in Montgomery County, PA by showcasing progress and advocating for completion of this trail, which is a critical connector in the Circuit Trails network. Responsibilities: Outreach & Education · Build relationships with members, community partners, and other stakeholders to secure support for the project. · Work with PFT team to create educational materials, collect and share stories, and develop digital content that generates engagement · Work with the Program Leader to educate municipal leaders, elected officials, and community stakeholders about the benefits of trail development. · Participate in select community events – most often held on Saturdays in spring, summer, and fall) - to engage local residents and secure their support for advancing the Liberty Bell Trail. Coalition Building · Collaborate with staff from agencies involved in expanding the Circuit Trails network. Currently, they include Montgomery County Planning Commission; Pennsylvania Environmental Council; DVRPC; Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, Bike North Penn, members of the Circuit Trails Coalition; and twelve municipalities. · Identify new partner agencies, cultivate relationships, and encourage their involvement in the project. Advocacy · Identify local champions and empower them to advocate for Liberty Bell Trail development in their municipalities. · Conduct surveys, in-person and online, to gain feedback on Liberty Bell Trail development. · Encourage stakeholders to sign a petition in support of Liberty Bell Trail development. Teamwork · Work collaboratively, as a member of the PFT team, and assist with other projects, as needed. · Share project updates with the PFT team at team meetings and via email. Operations · Participate in meetings and events, online and in-person. · Draft reports documenting project progress and key achievements. · Complete weekly reports summarizing time spent on project tasks. · Perform other duties, as required.
