In this role, you will collaborate with Project Leads, Technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and other team members to support the entire lifecycle of a CDS. You will contribute to the engineering, integration, cyber-security assessment, and sustainment support for Department of Defense (DoD) information-sharing environments operating across multiple security domains. This engineer ensures all CDS architecture, implementations, and operations comply with DoD CDS policy, NCDSMO Raise-the-Bar (RTB) guidance, DoDI 8540.01, DoDI 8510.01 (RMF), and applicable Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) requirements. This position supports mission partners in designing secure, accredited cross-domain capabilities across tactical, enterprise, and future cloud environments. **This position is located at Ramstein AB, Germany (International Assignment) *NO REMOTE WORK** What You'll Be Doing: Developing DoD-compliant CDS architectures for data transfer, multi-enclave integration, and coalition/interoperability use cases Producing DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) artifacts, CONOPS, and system engineering documentation Applying NCDSMO RTB requirements, to include: Security Design Specifications (SDS/ADS) CDS Security Requirements Guides (SRG) Cross Domain Solution Security Requirements (CDSSR) Engineering trusted data filters, guards, sanitizers, and validation rules for structured and unstructured data types Evaluating and engineering CDS solutions such as Radiant Mercury, OWL, Everfox HSG, Cloud-based CDS services, TACDS, and other custom high-assurance designs Deploying CDS technologies across DoD enclaves Providing engineering oversight in support of the integration of CDS systems with DoD boundary defense components: firewalls, IPS, ACAS, HBSS/EDR, STIG-hardened hosts, and PKI/CAC Providing engineering oversight in support of the implementation DoD patch, configuration, and change management processes (IAVM, SCAP, STIGs) Providing engineering oversight in support of the development of automated deployment and configuration solutions using DevSecOps tooling (Ansible, GitLab CI/CD) where mission appropriate Providing engineering oversight in support of the full Risk Management Framework Provide engineering support for CDS operations in enterprise and tactical DoD environments Troubleshoot cross-domain data flows, guard failures, filtering issues, policy file conflicts, and enclave routing challenges Maintain operational documentation (SOPs, runbooks, CM checklists, architecture baselines) Provide mission support for exercises, deployments, and real-world operations involving multi-domain information sharing Participate in and/or coordinate with Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) activities, threat response, and DoD incident handling as it relates to CDS What Required Skills You'll Bring: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineer, Information Security or equivalent DoD experience 7+ years of experience in DoD cybersecurity, network engineering, or systems engineering Hands-on experience designing, configuring, or supporting DoD CDS technologies Working knowledge of: DoDI 8540.01 (Cross Domain Policy) DoDI 8510.01 (RMF) NCDSMO RTB guidance & testing requirements NIST 800-53 controls relevant to CDS (AC-4, AC-17, AU-2/6/12, SC-7, SC-18, SI-3/4/7, etc.) DoD cyber tools (ACAS, HBSS/EDR, Splunk, Elastic, Wireshark) Network protocols, routing, and enclave boundary security Linux, RHEL, SELinux, virtualization Strong written communication for formal DoD documentation Ability to brief senior military, government leadership, and technical stakeholders Ability to work in a structured, high-compliance environment with tight security controls, as well as unstructured, tactical environments with developing REMOTE WORK** What Preferred Qualifications You'll Bring: Experience supporting CDS in the Defense Intelligence Enterprise or National Intelligence environments Experience with air-gapped network architectures and tactical CDS deployments Advanced security certifications: CISSP, CASP+, CEH, GCIH, GCED, GCIA, CCSP Self-starter utilizing your Linux and scripting expertise to support and field critical customer driven requirements, enabling secure data transfer Utilize interpersonal skills to engage directly with the customer to provide advanced design, analysis, and implementation of cross domain solution software Review, analyze and define requirements, design integrated solutions, implement cross domain technologies, integrate multiple tools across multiple disciplines, and perform formal security and functional testing Leverage standard networking concepts to support the design and implementation of networked systems to include failover, co-op, and load balancing as well as interoperability with other components within the enterprise Working knowledge of programming logic and methodologies (e.g., regular expressions) Demonstrate competency working hands-on in Linux based environments, troubleshooting on-site technical issues, using, and configuring the vendor specific solutions to deliver critical customer driver requirements Demonstrate competency in working on complex network environments, troubleshooting issues, designing and implemented failover capabilities and validating interoperability with other components within the enterprise Security Clearance Requirement: An active Top Secret security clearance is required for this position.
