Position Summary Position Summary: The Supplier Quality Auditor Technician is responsible for supporting the Fort Worth Supplier Excellence and Receiving Inspection teams when difficulties occur with suppliers. Both independently and working in a team environment, perform periodic dimensional or mechanical inspection on a diversified line of supplier provided Aerospace components. Inspection may include sub-assemblies, and assemblies to verify conformance to blueprints and engineering specifications. Responsible for ensuring compliance to customer and Stratoflex quality system specifications and requirements. Provides training to new or less experienced employees Responsibilities Responsibility- • Acts as primary Supplier Quality point of contact for Fort Worth received products. Represent Stratoflex during supplier communications to assure Stratoflex requirements are met. • Act as a liaison between Stratoflex Receiving/Inspection team and Supplier Excellence relating to supplier non-conformances and supplier quality performance. • When required, perform quality review of documents including, purchase orders, supplier paperwork, specifications, blueprints, and other related documents. • Liaison with suppliers to mitigate paperwork holds and product issues • Conduct periodic dimensional or mechanical inspection of parts, components, sub- assemblies, and assemblies, for conformance to blueprints and engineering specifications. • Uses various precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, comparators, and gauging equipment to verify conformance to customer requirements • Determines if products and/or components will be accepted or rejected based on specifications. • Provide assistance or guidance to Receiving Inspection related to questions about supplier product and documentation as well as Stratoflex and customer specifications. • Ensures compliance to Stratoflex quality system requirements. • Reviews new or revised specifications for updates to maintain current on supplier requirements. • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to use discretion in selecting procedures and techniques to apply to work and determine priority and order of assignments • Advises manufacturing personnel of possible supplier non-conformities. • Assures timely processing of nonconforming supplier material and assists in the disposition, containment, reinspection, return and/or disposal process. • Acts as Stratoflex representative on product quality and Quality Systems issues related to suppliers. Qualifications Qualifications (relevant experience, education and training): • Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 8 years related inspection experience with at least 2 years experience • Must have experience using precision instrument measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges, etc. • Must be able to pass required vision exam and color vision test on an annual basis • Able to implement and effectively apply lean/continuous improvement initiatives. • Able to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities. • Must be able to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy. • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. • Demonstrates strong computer skills. Able to access and interpret reports and use job specific software applications, such as employee self-service systems to access on-line information and use specialized automated systems (i.e., Microsoft, Solumina, CICS, email) • Demonstrates clear and effective communications with co-workers, supervisors, managers and suppliers about work product and processes and must exchange accurate information in these situations. Reads and understands written instructions and procedures including engineering blueprints, specifications and internal drawings and procedures. Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment. • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. • Knowledge of applicable military standards or specifications required. • On-site position with occasional travel required to suppliers (as needed). The position directly supports the Fort Worth Aerospace facility, remote option is not available. Location: Fort Worth, TX • Frequency: Full-time/40 hrs. per week (8-hour visit, 5 days a week) Typical Mental And Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to move about inside the plant to access tools, parts and materials. The team member must be able to remain in a stationary position about half the time. The team member is required to use test equipment to inspect parts. Must be able to detect and identify parts and tools and inspect work for defects and accuracy. Also expected of the team member is regular attendance, the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others. May be required to move parts or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds for a distance of 30 feet.
