Director of Operations – Sales & Installation Paramount Fence | Southeast Michigan About Paramount Fence Founded in 2010, Paramount Fence is a leading, award-winning fence contractor serving Southeast Michigan across residential, commercial, and builder segments. As part of a growing, multi-brand platform, Paramount is entering its next phase of operational maturity and growth—and we are seeking a hands-on, execution-focused Director of Operations (Sales & Installation) to help lead that charge. This role is ideal for a proven fence or construction operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, knows how to run subcontractor-based installation models, and takes pride in building disciplined, profitable operations without losing the customer experience. The Opportunity As Director of Operations – Sales & Installation, you will have full ownership of day-to-day performance, spanning sales execution, estimating accuracy, installation quality, subcontractor performance, safety, customer satisfaction, and margin improvement. You will lead a team of sales, operations, and installation professionals while working closely with ownership and executive leadership to professionalize processes, tighten execution, and scale the business responsibly. This is not a desk role. We’re looking for a leader who can see the jobsite, the numbers, and the people—and connect all three. Key Responsibilities Operational & Financial Leadership • Own end-to-end operational performance across sales, installation, and service • Drive gross margin improvement through better estimating, labor efficiency, material planning, and rework reduction • Manage subcontractor utilization, productivity, quality, and compliance • Partner with leadership on forecasting, capacity planning, and growth initiatives Sales Execution & Estimating Discipline • Oversee the sales process to ensure accurate scope, pricing discipline, and clean handoffs to operations • Improve close rates while protecting margin and install feasibility • Ensure CRM and project data accuracy to support visibility and decision-making Installation, Safety & Quality • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to Paramount’s quality standards • Enforce OSHA and company safety standards across crews and job sites • Reduce callbacks, warranty work, and customer escalations through process and accountability People & Culture • Lead, coach, and develop sales, operations, and installation teams • Set clear expectations, KPIs, and performance accountability • Build a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and pride in workmanship Customer Experience • Elevate the customer experience from estimate through final install • Act as escalation point for complex or high-visibility projects • Protect Paramount’s reputation through consistent execution What Success Looks Like (12–18 Months) • Improved install efficiency and subcontractor performance • Measurable reduction in rework, callbacks, and customer complaints • Stronger margin performance through estimating accuracy and execution • Clear operating rhythm with visibility into backlog, capacity, and KPIs • A high-performing, accountable team that runs with less friction Qualifications & Experience Required • 5+ years of leadership experience in fence, construction, or exterior services operations • Direct experience managing subcontractor installation models • Proven ownership of sales execution and/or installation performance • Strong understanding of job costing, margins, and operational KPIs • Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and field operations • Comfortable leading teams, resolving issues, and making decisions quickly Preferred / Highly Valued • Experience in a multi-branch or growth-oriented operation • Background in residential and/or light commercial fencing • Experience improving operational discipline in a growing company • Familiarity with Buildertrend, HubSpot, or similar CRM / project management platforms • Strong Excel and reporting skills for performance tracking Job Type: Full-time Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Experience: • Fence Operations Management: 1 year (Required) Work Location: In person
