Position Description The Technical Product Manager, POS Software is responsible for product planning and execution across the full product lifecycle, with a strong focus on technical systems, integrations, and platform capabilities that power PAR’s POS ecosystem. This role operates at the intersection of business strategy, technical architecture, and customer-driven innovation. You will work closely with engineering teams to define and prioritize work that aligns with PAR’s product strategy, technical standards, and long-term scalability goals. This position reports to the Product Line Leader and requires comfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with multiple concurrent initiatives. Position Location Remote (U.S.) or Hybrid Reports To Product Line Leader What You Will Do Own and prioritize the product backlog by defining, refining, and sequencing epics and user stories aligned to business goals and technical strategy Serve as the product representative for one or more Agile delivery teams, actively participating in Scrum ceremonies and unblocking delivery Act as the technical product expert with a deep understanding of current system architecture and a clear vision for platform evolution Partner closely with Engineering to define functional and non-functional requirements, architectural tradeoffs, and scalability considerations Balance business value, technical debt, risk reduction, time sensitivity, and opportunity enablement when prioritizing work Manage roadmap dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments with transparency Collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to deliver complex, multi-team initiatives such as platform enhancements, integrations, and migrations Interface regularly with executives, engineering leaders, operations, and business stakeholders to align priorities and outcomes Influence across teams and functions without formal authority, building strong, trusted partnerships What We’re Looking For 5+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, or technical business analysis working closely with software engineering teams Experience building and scaling enterprise-grade B2B or B2B2C software platforms in high-availability environments 3+ years of experience in hospitality, retail, or transaction-heavy systems (POS, payments, ordering, integrations, or similar domains) Demonstrated ability to create and execute a technical product roadmap aligned to business and platform strategy Strong track record of delivering results using Agile development practices informed by metrics, telemetry, and user data Experience leading initiatives involving APIs, integrations, cloud services, and distributed systems Ability to influence and align cross-functional teams without direct authority Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, data-driven, and entrepreneurial environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable language Willingness to become a subject matter expert on the products and systems you own Working knowledge of modern software architectures, cloud platforms, APIs, and system integrations strongly preferred Interview Process Interview #1: Phone screen with Talent Acquisition Interview #2: Video interview with Hiring Manager (MS Teams) Interview #3: Video interview with the Team (MS Teams) PAR is proud to provide equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
