Responsibilities • The Service Manager is primarily responsible for the complete lifecycle of our team members, including actively sourcing, orienting, and training new staff, providing direct oversight and coaching to all restaurant and delivery personnel (including the authority to administer disciplinary action up to and including employment separation), and managing the day-to-day service operations to ensure the team executes all required tasks with the highest level of quality and consistency. • This is achieved by acting as a strong, autonomous leader, making sound decisions, and inspiring a culture of accountability and pride within the team. • Core duties involve overseeing shift execution and guaranteeing strict compliance with all Company standards, policies, procedures, and operating systems. • This position holds key responsibility for all aspects of shift leadership, staff recruitment/termination, onboarding procedures, ongoing development, performance management, and taking necessary corrective action for restaurant and delivery team members. • Restaurant and delivery personnel report directly to this management position. • This role is typically assigned to high-volume or complex service locations and reports directly to the restaurant’s General Manager. • Deliver exceptional products to our customers by implementing a robust quality assurance process with the team, ensuring every prepared item adheres to Papa John's specifications and accurately reflects the customer’s request. • Effectively communicate, train, and promote our quality and service standards to all team members, utilizing all available resources, including the Operations Manual and Team Member Handbook. • Confirm all team member food safety certifications are current and properly manage company assets by ensuring the facility is meticulously clean and consistently meets all safety and security regulations. • Oversee the activities of all hourly restaurant staff, including shift supervisors, counter staff, and delivery drivers, during their scheduled working hours. • In the absence of the General Manager, assume full responsibility for all functions of the Papa John’s restaurant to maintain high-quality products and customer service standards. • Proactively recruit customer-focused individuals, maintain staffing levels based on sales forecasts, properly welcome and train staff to surpass customer expectations, enforce shift adherence to uniform and grooming policies, and clearly communicate performance expectations to all direct reports. • Thoroughly document all performance-related concerns and administer appropriate disciplinary steps, up to and including termination of employment. • Skillfully coach and mentor team members; and actively support an environment that fosters cooperation, high energy, and enjoyment. • Contribute to achieving the store's sales targets by ensuring fast and courteous customer service, accomplished through continuous staff training on product knowledge and sales execution techniques. • Develop and implement strategies to address negative trends and maximize the restaurant's profitability. • Execute all shift-level financial controls and cash handling responsibilities with accuracy.
