The Cybersecurity Analyst II plays an important role in protecting the organization’s assets through the use of advanced security tools and methodologies. This position involves assessing cloud infrastructure and applications to maintain policy compliance. This position also communicates cybersecurity improvements and provides strategic recommendations for cybersecurity decisions. Ultimately this position contributes to ensuring that the organization’s security posture remains robust and effective. This position is fully remote. Key Responsibilities • Monitor organizational networks and systems for security breaches or suspicious activity, ensuring proactive detection in a fully remote environment • Detect, analyze, and respond to cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security incidents across distributed systems and remote endpoints • Conduct user access reviews and internal security audits to identify weaknesses and maintain security posture • Maintain accurate inventories of software and systems and related vulnerabilities • Recommend and implement security tools and protective measures to strengthen defenses for cloud‑based and remote-access environments • Maintain and update corporate security policies, procedures, and incident response plans optimized for remote work operations • Work with external teams to coordinate penetration tests and other security-related assessments, track findings, and support remediation efforts • Prepare clear and comprehensive reports documenting security incidents, findings, and mitigation steps • Maintain awareness of evolving cybersecurity threats and remote‑work attack vectors to anticipate and prevent breaches • Collaborate with application development and DevOps teams to communicate security requirements, participate in security reviews of new features or deployments, and escalate findings as appropriate • Manage identities involved in application and tool integrations Requirements • Minimum 3 years of IT cybersecurity experience • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, network protocols, and incident response processes relevant to cloud-based environments • Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection • Ability to analyze logs, investigate alerts, and perform forensic assessments on remotely managed systems • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud preferred), including familiarity with cloud-native security controls, identity management, and logging capabilities • Experience working with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools (such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, CrowdStrike, or SentinelOne) to investigate alerts, review endpoint telemetry, and support incident response activities • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for coordinating with IT and security teams across distributed locations • Ability to educate personnel regarding information security topics • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks such as NIST, GDPR, or HIPAA • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, candidates with relevant cybersecurity certifications (Security+, CySA+, Microsoft Security Operations Analyst) may be considered.
