About the Role Pacific Tech Communications (PTC) is seeking an experienced Business Developer with strong relationships in the electrical construction industry, especially within Northern California. This is a contract / 1099 role, not a full-time position. We are looking for someone who can identify new opportunities, bring in commercial electrical projects, and help establish long-term relationships with major clients—such as general contractors, developers, property managers, ISPs, utilities, and organizations involved in electrical and fiber-optic infrastructure. If you already have existing industry contacts and want flexible, remote commission-based work, this role is ideal. Responsibilities • Identify and bring new commercial electrical projects (TI, service work, remodels, ground-up) • Build and strengthen relationships with large clients in Northern California • Engage with general contractors, electrical PMs, developers, and facility managers • Assist with RFPs, bid invitations, and vendor onboarding processes • Introduce PTC to potential customers in the electrical and telecom-fiber sectors • Coordinate early-stage project information with our estimating team • Provide intel on market pricing, project timelines, and customer expectations • Expand PTC’s footprint in NorCal electrical and fiber-optic construction markets Requirements • Experience in business development or sales in the electrical construction industry • Existing relationships with NorCal electrical GCs, developers, or major customers • Understanding of commercial electrical scopes, TI, service upgrades, and related work • Ability to communicate professionally with large organizations and decision-makers • Must work as a 1099 independent contractor • Strong communication, negotiation, and networking skills • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently Preferred Qualifications • Connections with major Northern California contractors • Experience in telecom / fiber-optic infrastructure a plus • Knowledge of CA construction processes, standards, and permitting • Ability to generate leads quickly based on existing contacts Compensation • Commission-based or per-project compensation • Higher pay for bringing repeat customers or long-term contracts • Flexible schedule — work as much or as little as you want • Bonus structure based on project value or awarded contracts Job Type: Contract Pay: From $100,000.00 per year Work Location: Remote
