In the next 30 years, the world will transform every part of the built environment to be climate positive green infrastructure. Knowing what, where, and how to build infrastructure like solar farms and data centers is one of the great opportunities of our time. However, there are problems! The Problem 80% of clean energy projects that developers start never actually get built because most projects are started without deep due diligence on zoning and interconnection due to the cost of collecting that data. This means $17B worth of canceled projects per year. Our Solution Paces is software for green infrastructure developers to identify the best places to build and manage their projects. First we collect environmental, permitting, zoning, energy grid data from various different sources; then we analyze the data and use AI to identify the best places for developers to build their next projects. Paces is growing rapidly and looking for motivated, collaborative, and insightful individuals to work with our design engineering teams to develop new products and evolve existing products. Our development timelines are aggressive and you will be asked to rigorously explore solutions for previously unsolved problems. Ideal candidates for our team have passion for making things work, are highly detail-oriented self-starters, and are hungry to do work that matters. 🏆 What You’ll Achieve Lead a cross-functional team to automate critical project development workflows across permitting, origination, and environmental review. Research new domains quickly, partner with world-class project developers, and turn insights into product direction. Make critical build vs. buy decisions on strategically important land use and real estate datasets, and own commercial negotiations with vendors and partners. Own the product roadmap for zoning, permitting, environmental, and real estate data , focusing on the datasets, tools, and integrations that matter most. Work with leadership to define positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategies for services offerings, ensuring alignment with the broader company vision. Prioritize ruthlessly between speed, scope, and value while separating signal from noise to keep strategy clear. Prototype rapidly with AI tools and work directly with messy geospatial and land use datasets when needed to accelerate the product development lifestyle. 📈 Requirements 4+ years of product management, software engineering, data science or similar experience. 1+ years of early-stage startup experience. Strong experience working with data-driven or technical products. Proven ability to lead teams through ambiguous 0→1 product work. Technically fluent—comfortable working with APIs, datasets, and engineering tradeoffs. Skilled at making decisions under uncertainty and adjusting quickly. Experience balancing technical debt with product growth. Experience in real estate, GIS, or environmental tech. ✨ About You A problem-solver and team leader who synthesizes information, bringing clarity and momentum. A fast learner who can pick up new concepts and domains incredibly quickly. Scrappy and strong bias to ship —willing and able to do the work yourself when needed to get the job done. Commercially minded , always connecting product choices to business goals. Ruthlessly protective of your team’s focus and highly selective about adding process. Comfortable with Python and SQL for working with data directly.
