Job Description: Job Tittle: Quality Improvement Specialist I Location: Remote - TX Duration: 3 Months (Possible Extensions) Shift: 8 AM - 5 PM CST, Monday to Friday (with some flexibility). Position Overview The Quality Improvement Specialist I supports chart retrieval initiatives to ensure accurate and complete medical record documentation for the Quality Improvement (QI) team. This role focuses on obtaining, downloading, and organizing medical records from provider offices and EMR systems to support ongoing QI and compliance projects. This is a highly collaborative, team-oriented role with extensive training provided. The team has very low turnover, and contractors often extend due to strong team culture and meaningful work. Key Responsibilities • Conduct medical record retrieval ("chart chase") by contacting provider offices and accessing EMR platforms. • Download, organize, and submit medical records according to project guidelines. • Maintain accurate logs and worksheets using Microsoft Excel and other internal systems. • Communicate professionally with provider offices and QI team members. • Complete assigned tasks within established timelines and quality standards. • Participate in training sessions during onboarding and ongoing skill development. • Support multiple chart chase initiatives running concurrently. Typical Day • Remote work, Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM CT (hours may vary based on provider availability). • Independent work with regular virtual team interactions. • Assigned daily tasks focused on record retrieval and documentation. • Training provided during the first several weeks, followed by independent project work. Required Qualifications • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. • Location: Must reside in Texas. • Technical Skills: • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (basic level required). • General computer and office software proficiency. • Experience: • General office or administrative experience. • Other: • Ability to remain with the assignment for the full contract period. • Stable employment history and consistent tenure. Preferred Qualifications • Experience working with medical records or within provider offices or health plans. • Familiarity with EMR systems. Disqualifiers • Residing outside of Texas. • Inability to perform basic Microsoft Excel tasks. Top Three Required Skills (Ranked) • Microsoft Excel (Basic proficiency) • General office/administrative skills • Experience with medical records (preferred but not required)
