Position Overview Vrge Strategies is a boutique public affairs and technology communications agency that develops strategic campaigns to win battles over technology, AI, policy and security. We are nimble, resilient and proactive. We are looking for a fearless strategic communications leader to work directly with our clients to develop and implement impactful communications campaigns. Ideal candidates are forward-leaning, thoughtful, creative and fun, smart, tech-savvy, driven and client-oriented. As a strategic communications manager, you will be tasked with leading a variety of initiatives for our clients helping to educate policymakers and influencers on the policy needs of companies focused on cybersecurity, civic tech, fintech, etc. The position is remote with an option to be based out of our Virginia office. Responsibilities • Working with senior leadership team, develop and execute strategic communications plans and campaigns for clients across public advocacy and/or technology sectors • Manage and execute media relations/media outreach, research, writing and content creation, etc. for 4-6 client accounts • Develop project plans and agendas, lead client meetings, and maintain timelines to ensure deliverables and objectives are being met • Manage crisis communications as needed with senior leadership team • Build and maintain ongoing client relationship and provide strategic council Qualifications • 4-7 years of experience in a strategic communications, media relations, public affairs or similar position; agency, public policy and/or technology experience a plus • Proven success developing and executing successful communications plans • Deep knowledge and passion for technology policy • Ability and eagerness to tell compelling stories that highlight the impact of technology on national, state and local economies • Media relations expertise with a connection to leading policy and technology journalists across the country; motivated by the satisfaction of securing earned media placements • Must be a strong, compelling writer, editor, strategist and executor of great work; self-starter, curious and driven • Possesses exceptional project management skills and thrives in a fast-paced environment
