Position Summary: The Compliance & Audit Manager II is responsible for supporting the HIM MS Division by managing the auditors and coders assigned to their area of responsibility and conducting internal and external coding-related audits. This position will be responsible for ensuring the auditors and coders assigned to their accounts are meeting the productivity and quality expectations for both internal and external audits, and conducting assessments for potential new hires for coding assignments. The Compliance & Audit Manager II serves as an HIM resource for internal and external customers. Responsibilities: General: Assist Account Managers with preparing proposals and fielding inquiries from clients regarding HIM MS services Update the Division Compliance & Audit process on an annual basis or as needed Conduct assessments (PA’s) of potential new hires prior to placing them on assignments Disseminate AHA Coding Clinic and CPT Assistant to internal HIM Consultants when updates are received Assist and support Recruiters and Account Managers as needed Participate in regular client meetings representing the HIM MS services Other duties as assigned Auditor Management: Auditing education may include quarterly conference calls, ongoing continuing education for the HIM Consultants, on-site education, and web based in-service education Set up ReviewMate audits and assign relevant auditors Ensure that all HIM Auditors (internal and external) meet expected productivity standards as outlined in the HIM Compliance & Audit Plan Operations Management: Conduct internal education programs for auditors, coders, sales and recruiting teams Education may include quarterly conference calls, ongoing continuing education for the HIM Consultants, and web based in-service education Responsible for a small number of auditing assignments Ensure that all HIM Coding Consultants assigned to their clients meet 95% accuracy and productivity standards, as outlined in the HIM Compliance & Audit Plan Generate Quarterly Quality Audit Executive Summary reports for clients Perform education, coaching and development actions, or other measures for those auditors and/or coders failing to meet quality and/or productivity standards Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required 2+ years of HIM coding management required RHIA, RHIT and/or CCS preferred with additional experience 3+ years of auditing experience, both inpatient and outpatient areas required Thorough working knowledge and demonstrated experience in both MS-DRGs, APR-DRGs, and APCs required Current working knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding fraud and abuse laws required Strong ability to interface with all levels of the organization Excellent verbal and written communications skills is a must Creative, outgoing, energetic person with a demonstrable track record of exceeding goals Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
