We are seeking a motivated and detail‑driven Project Captain to support our Architecture and Engineering teams across a wide range of renovation and addition projects. This role offers exciting, hands‑on work both in the field and in the office, with opportunities to grow into project management and team leadership. The ideal candidate is organized, technically skilled, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment. Key Responsibilities • Conduct job site visits to survey existing conditions, including developing existing plans, performing inspections, building condition surveys, and feasibility studies. • Attend job site meetings and participate in construction administration activities. • Maintain an active project list and provide regular updates to department leadership regarding staffing needs, deadlines, and critical project milestones. • Support field and office operations by assisting with project proposals, budgets, and other administrative tasks as needed. • Prepare project reports, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and other documentation required for project completion. • Create and review drawings using AutoCAD and Revit based on project information and direction received. • Develop project specification books using MasterSpec. • Provide guidance and decision support to clients, contractors, engineers, project managers, and other professionals throughout the construction phase. • Oversee and enforce technical standards, engineering procedures, and departmental policies related to design and field observation. • Serve as a project manager, including direct project labor and eventual oversight of small engineering teams—managing scheduling, task assignments, and weekly accountability. • Mentor junior staff by offering hands‑on design support, leadership, and team‑building as they grow within the department. Project Types Assignments will vary across disciplines and typically include renovation and addition projects such as: • K–12 school facilities • Assisted living and senior care facilities • Private sector building improvements • Other public and private renovation projects
