Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. In this role, you will provide technical support and assistance to end-users, ensuring that their computing environment is efficient and effective. You will be responsible for troubleshooting software and hardware issues, managing computer systems, and maintaining IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset. Responsibilities • Provide technical support for desktop systems, applications, and peripherals. • Troubleshoot software issues, including Microsoft Office applications and operating systems such as Windows and macOS. • Manage computer hardware installations, configurations, and upgrades. • Assist with network administration tasks including VPN setup, firewall configurations, and TCP/IP troubleshooting. • Utilize tools such as SCCM for software deployment and management. • Support Active Directory for user account management and group policy (GPO) administration. • Respond to help desk tickets using platforms like BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, or Jira. • Conduct analysis of IT infrastructure to identify areas for improvement. • Maintain documentation of technical procedures and user guides. • Provide customer service support to ensure user satisfaction. Skills • Proficient in technical support and desktop support methodologies. • Strong knowledge of computer networking principles including DNS, LAN, TCP/IP, and network administration. • Experience with IT support tools such as Meraki for network management. • Familiarity with Linux operating systems alongside Microsoft Windows Server environments. • Excellent troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues. • Ability to communicate effectively with users at all levels of technical proficiency. • Experience in managing mobile devices within an enterprise environment. • Strong analytical skills to assess problems quickly and implement effective solutions.
