Overview Ovation Holdings is hiring a Materials Manager to build and lead the supply chain function for our Valve Division, a multi-site industrial services business that repairs, services, and sells pressure relief, control, and isolation valves for power, refining, chemical, and industrial customers. This is a division-level role with real ownership. You will set inventory strategy, own procurement policy, and be accountable for working capital and cost performance across every Valve Division location. The division operates on more than one ERP today, purchasing practices vary by region, and inventory has grown through acquisition rather than design. Your job is to turn that into one disciplined, system-driven supply chain. The role can be performed remotely, but you will spend meaningful time in our shops. Our Joliet, IL and St. Louis, MO locations are both Valve Division sites, and candidates based near either are strongly preferred. Responsibilities • Own total inventory value and days-inventory-on-hand for the division, measured against targets you help set • Maintain Plan for Every Part (PFEP) discipline for every stocked item: stocking location, reorder point, order quantity, and lead time • Lead right-sizing initiatives that reduce slow-moving and obsolete stock without hurting turnaround time on customer jobs • Establish and enforce a single procurement process across all regions, aligned to actual demand • Lead supplier pricing negotiations and sourcing strategy; deliver annual cost savings and cost mitigation targets • Identify, vet, and onboard new suppliers, including alternates for long-lead and single-source OEM parts • Lead planning processes across the division, aligned to sales forecasts and shop schedules • Develop replenishment systems that shorten lead times and keep technicians working rather than waiting on parts • Own item master and vendor master accuracy across NetSuite and Global Shop, including lead times, pricing, and inventory parameters • Manage planners, purchasing specialists, and a strategic sourcing specialist across multiple locations • Partner with regional general managers and finance on inventory targets, capital, and cost performance Performance Metrics • Inventory turns and days inventory on hand • Inventory value versus target • Supplier on-time delivery and quality • Delivered cost savings • Item and vendor master accuracy • Direct labor utilization Experience and Qualifications • 7–10+ years in supply chain or materials management, including multi-site inventory responsibility • Experience owning inventory dollars and working capital, not just executing purchase orders • Background in low-volume, high-mix, or aftermarket and repair environments where demand is irregular and part counts are large • Strong ERP fluency; NetSuite experience preferred, and experience standardizing processes across more than one system is a plus • Track record of delivered cost savings and supplier negotiations you can speak to specifically • Comfort leading a distributed team and influencing shop leaders who do not report to you • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; APICS CPIM or CSCP a plus Why Ovation Ovation Holdings is a growing industrial services platform backed by Warren Equity Partners.
