Role Overview: As a Senior Firmware Engineer at Oura, you will play a critical role in developing and optimizing the firmware that powers our award-winning Oura Ring. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance device performance, reliability, and user experience, ensuring our products continue to lead the market in innovation and quality. What You'll Do: - You will design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for the Oura Ring, focusing on performance and power efficiency. - You will collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate new sensors and features into the device. - You will troubleshoot and resolve firmware issues, ensuring robust and reliable product operation. - You will participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes. - You will work closely with the product and design teams to align firmware capabilities with user needs. - You will mentor junior engineers and share best practices within the team. - You will contribute to the development of testing frameworks and automated test suites. - You will stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation. What You Bring: - You have 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development, preferably in consumer electronics or wearable devices. - You possess strong proficiency in C/C++ programming and embedded systems architecture. - You have hands-on experience with low-power microcontrollers and sensor integration. - You are skilled in debugging tools and techniques for embedded systems. - You have a solid understanding of wireless communication protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). - You demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and firmware security best practices. - Knowledge of mobile app integration and cloud connectivity. - Familiarity with hardware design and PCB layout principles. - Prior experience working in agile development teams.
