Role Overview: As a Senior Firmware Engineer at Oura, you will play a critical role in developing and optimizing the firmware that powers our award-winning Oura Ring. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain embedded software that enhances device performance, reliability, and user experience. What You'll Do: - You will design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for the Oura Ring, ensuring high performance and low power consumption. - You will collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate new sensors and features into the device. - You will troubleshoot and debug firmware issues, providing timely solutions to maintain product quality. - You will participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes. - You will optimize firmware for resource-constrained environments, balancing functionality and efficiency. - You will work closely with the product and design teams to translate user needs into technical requirements. - You will mentor junior engineers and share best practices within the team. - You will stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation. What You Bring: - 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development, preferably in consumer electronics or wearable devices. - Proficiency in C/C++ programming and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS). - Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures and low-level hardware interfaces. - Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocol and wireless communication. - Familiarity with debugging tools such as JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with sensor integration and signal processing algorithms. - Knowledge of power management techniques for battery-operated devices. - Background in health technology or wearable device development. - Experience with Agile development methodologies.
