Role Overview: As a Senior Firmware Engineer at Oura, you will play a critical role in developing and optimizing the firmware that powers our award-winning Oura Ring. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain embedded software that enhances device performance and user experience. This role is ideal for someone passionate about wearable technology and eager to contribute to products that make a meaningful impact on users' lives. What You'll Do: - You will design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for the Oura Ring, ensuring high performance and reliability. - You will collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate new sensors and features into the device. - You will optimize firmware for low power consumption to extend battery life. - You will participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes. - You will troubleshoot and resolve firmware issues reported from testing and production. - You will work closely with the product team to translate user needs into technical requirements. - You will mentor junior engineers and share best practices within the team. - You will stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to keep Oura at the forefront of wearable tech. What You Bring: - 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development, preferably in wearable or IoT devices. - Proficiency in C/C++ programming and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS). - Strong understanding of low-power embedded system design and optimization. - Experience with hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. - Familiarity with wireless communication protocols like Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with sensor fusion algorithms and signal processing. - Knowledge of mobile app integration and cloud connectivity. - Background in health or fitness technology products. - Experience working in agile development teams.
