Role Overview: As a Senior Firmware Engineer at Oura, you will play a critical role in developing and optimizing the firmware that powers our award-winning Oura Ring. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain embedded software that enhances device performance and user experience. What You'll Do: - You will design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for the Oura Ring, ensuring high performance and reliability. - You will collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate new sensors and features into the device. - You will optimize firmware for low power consumption to extend battery life. - You will participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes. - You will troubleshoot and resolve firmware issues reported from testing and production. - You will work closely with the product team to translate user needs into technical requirements. - You will mentor junior engineers and share best practices within the team. - You will stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to keep Oura at the forefront of wearable tech. What You Bring: - 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development, preferably in wearable or IoT devices. - Proficiency in C/C++ programming and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS). - Strong understanding of low-power embedded system design and optimization. - Experience with hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. - Familiarity with wireless communication protocols like Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with sensor fusion algorithms and signal processing. - Knowledge of mobile app integration and cloud connectivity. - Background in health or fitness technology products. - Experience working in agile development teams.
