Job Summary: OSV News is seeking an Associate Digital Editor with excellent writing and editing skills, as well as a strong understanding of the Catholic Church, to assist the Digital Editor in implementing strategic vision of OSV News’ digital initiatives. The OSV News Associate Digital Editor will write, review, and edit content for OSV News according to OSV’s publication style and editorial guidelines. Essential Job Functions (*=Non-essential tasks): • Create, edit, and deploy OSV News client and consumer newsletters, optimizing for growth and audience management • Assist in the incorporation of AI into the OSV Newsroom • Grow OSV News audience engagement on social media platforms • Assist with creation of OSV Newscast daily podcast • Play an integral role in the day-to-day activities of OSV News’ virtual newsroom, working closely with news and photo editors to manage and utilize digital assets as needed • Upload content to content management system, adding keywords and metadata as needed • Pitch creative and dynamic stories to raise OSV’s profile and engage audiences • Identify emerging trends, topics, and opportunities in the Catholic Church to inform content strategy • Assist respective editors in the planning of editorial content • Monitor digital content performance metrics, analyze audience engagement, and use insights to refine content strategies • Identify opportunities for content improvement and growth based on data-driven insights • Participate in a team-centric environment that adheres to the Catholic Media Association’s Fair Publishing Practices Code • Accomplish all other tasks or duties as assigned Requirements: Experience: • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Catholic communications • Experience in Microsoft 365, WordPress, Canva, Airtable a plus • Experience working with content management systems Education: • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or equivalent Liberal Arts field preferred; however, a combination of relevant work experience and education will be considered Skills and Abilities: • Exemplary writing and editing skills • Ability to think creatively and independently for social media postings • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, and across departments • Ability to determine and track KPIs • Ability to meet quick deadlines without sacrificing quality • Strong knowledge of AP style • Ability to be accountable in a remote work environment • A passion about using technology to share content from OSV News • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills to manage projects simultaneously • Excellent verbal and written communication • Strong understanding of Catholic Church teachings and practices • Willingness and interest in working as part of a creative, collaborative team Working Environment: • Incumbent will be working in a remote office environment • Must be able to sit for the majority of one’s shift • May be required to travel a few times a year Supervisory Responsibilities: • None Compensation OSV recognizes that its employees work in many different states and therefore may be affected by different laws.
