Our work is: Research-driven: We conduct and publish original research in AI, collaborating with our community of academic research labs and collaborators Community-powered: We believe in the power of open-collaboration and welcome contributions from researchers and developers worldwide Role Overview We're seeking an exceptional Front-End Engineer to design and build sophisticated, interactive web interfaces for our AI platform. You will lead the development of performant, data-rich user experiences that power complex workflows and real-time model visualizations. This role focuses exclusively on frontend architecture, interaction design, and performance, and is ideal for engineers passionate about building exceptional user interfaces for advanced technical tools. What you'll do: Frontend Development: Build and maintain highly responsive, modular UIs using React and TypeScript UI Architecture: Design scalable, component-based architectures that support dynamic, interactive, and data-heavy AI tools and dashboards Data Visualization: Implement advanced, real-time data visualizations to help users interpret and interact with large datasets and model outputs Performance Optimization: Ensure UI responsiveness and maintainability, even under heavy data loads and real-time updates Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver cohesive, intuitive experiences for AI practitioners What you’ll bring: Experience: Proven track record building and scaling complex, interactive front-end applications Expertise in React & TypeScript: Strong understanding of component architecture, advanced state management (e.g. Zustand, Redux, TanStack Query), and performance tuning Visualization Tools: Hands-on experience with D3.js, WebGL, or similar data visualization libraries API Integration: Comfortable working with REST and GraphQL APIs to build UIs that are driven by dynamic and complex data Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication and the ability to work effectively with designers, backend engineers, and domain experts Open Source Ethos: Interest in or experience contributing to open-source UI tools or design systems Values: Share Oumi’s values: Beneficial for all, Customer-obsessed, Radical Ownership, Exceptional Teammates, Science-grounded Bonus points: Contributions to open-source frontend or visualization libraries Experience designing interfaces for AI/ML, scientific, or data platforms Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for frontend apps Exposure to backend technologies or infrastructure (FastAPI, Flask, Django, AWS, GCP, Azure) Experience working with Rust for performance-critical browser components Benefits Competitive salary: $100,000 - $220,000 Equity in a high-growth startup Comprehensive health, dental and vision insurance 21 days PTO Regular team offsites and events
