THE POSITION As Head of Retail for the US territory, you will lead and inspire your teams to deliver the brand’s purpose – helping customers Holiday Better – while embedding our values-driven culture across all retail touchpoints. Your role is pivotal in creating a customer-centric experiences that goes beyond the physical store and reflects the spirit of our brand. Core Focus Areas: • Train, coach, and inspire your team to represent the brand with confidence and expertise, ensuring every interaction reflects our values and onboarding principles. • Create a customer-first culture that transcends traditional retail boundaries, delivering exceptional experiences both in-store and through digital channels. • Build meaningful relationships by understanding customer lifestyles and priorities, leveraging tools such as clienteling software, KPI dashboards, and insights to drive engagement. • Develop team capability through hands-on coaching in all forms of customer interaction - face-to-face, written, and digital - ensuring consistency and excellence across every touchpoint. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Transplanting the culture of the brand into the daily working lives of the store teams, the role is the primary representative of the brand to the store teams and customers in their remit. • Recruitment, training and ongoing coaching and evaluation of all directly recruited teams. Making sure each team member has the requisite skills and knowledge at the point of hiring or can be quickly developed to do so. You will also need to demonstrate these skills. For example: • The ability to form long term, personal connections with customers through relationship building, service, and clienteling skills. • Personal experience of, or enthusiasm for, travel and life experiences. Having a wanderlust and a desire to do and learn more. Also, to take an interest in the environmental and social aspects of the world. • A knowledge of our customer lifestyles and, priorities. • Can present themselves well, orally, and can dress themselves in a considered, detailed manner. • The ability to use multiple customer service tools and understand their performance. • Establish a total service approach to retail. We believe that each store is a critical point of contact for customers and potential customers, but your role is to ensure that it behaves as part of a global network across all formats (Web /other stores and retail formats/ other retailers). Ensure recognition and rewards are aligned to ensure store teams act accordingly. • Ensure that the presentation and operation of store formats are maintained and efficient, creating excitement through visual presentation of collections. Executing against company initiatives and providing feedback on how to improve or adjust for particular locations. • Analysis and forecasting skills, you should be capable of understanding the performance of your direct reports and formulating plans to improve to, or above the levels expected. You will be expected to provide forecasts and feedback to assist with financial planning at any time in company and self-generated formats. • Provide feedback and opportunity analysis in a considered but ongoing basis across key merchandising and all operational elements of running each format. • Ensure budgets and costs are managed in line with expectation. Protecting the financial assets of the company in terms of the physical stores and stock holding within. Take accountability for the overall P+L of your stores, alongside the halo effect on the total network. • Work alongside the Retail Operations Manager to ensure that all HR tasks for the local team are completed. This includes onboarding, training and development, conflict resolution, benefits, exiting and any compliance requirements as set by the central HR team. CANDIDATE PROFILE • Experience and competencies to carry out the responsibilities listed above. Understand how to motivate your colleagues in a positive and forward looking way. • Demonstrate brand thinking and be capable of dialogue to assist with how the brand is brought to life in retail formats. • Ability to work as a team member and have productive interactions within your team and head office support functions to develop your business, but also keen to take personal accountability for performance. You have well developed feedback skills. • You will be able to present succinctly to all levels of the organisation including at Board level as needed. • Demonstrable analytic and financial skills required by the role. • Ability to work across borders and cultures, having language skills would be an advantage.
