Full Description

Department Overview The Office of the Chief Research Information Officer (CRIO) was established in 2018 with the inaugural position filled by Dr. David Dorr; the office focuses on leadership, innovation, and enhancing service in research informatics. This position will assist in the innovation by supporting OHSU's Research initiatives 2025, Artificial Intelligence and Learning Health Systems. The Chief Health Information Officer (CHIO) is responsible for Healthcare related Informatics solutions and issues. Artificial Intelligence is being used in Healthcare in multiple areas (clinical and non-clinical). Function/Duties of Position Organize and facilitate weekly project meetings. Document notes and action items during meetings. Recruit participants to take part in the effort. Escalate requests as required to meet strategic and customer priorities. Assist in the development of business plans, requirements documents, workflows, training plans, project and communication plans. Maintain lists/repositories of projects/tools/assets/users. Facilitate processes related to committees/workgroups/projects. Assist with establishing and updating project and study goals and objectives. Support and participate in all research efforts including: Implementation strategy, milestone assessments and reporting, usability testing, needs and requirements. Conduct literature reviews and prepare monthly and quarterly reports, conference abstracts, and manuscripts for publication. Assist in tracking issues, milestones, and features (some within Agile sprint cycles). Collaborate with project team and stakeholders throughout the lifetime of the project. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Master's degree in Informatics, Public Health, social science, computer science or related field; AND 1 year of relevant experience (project coordinator/manager, or research assistance role); OR Equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills: both written and verbal. Must have general knowledge about scientific research and working in academia. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products. Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-disciplinary team. Must possess energy and drive to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to communicate complex ideas to customers and co-workers. Must be collaborative in resolving problems and have a customer-focused attitude. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree preferred. 1 year of experience in clinical trials/research. 1 year of experience with AI projects. Ability to create spreadsheets, timelines, data entry forms and reports, experience with electronic health records, Smartsheet, MS Project and the ability to work with large and diverse stakeholder groups. Experience with Artificial Intelligence or Learning Health Systems a plus. Additional Details Work hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work to meet project deadlines. This position is eligible for hybrid (in-office and remote), or remote work with the understanding that the employee may be asked to come into the office for critical in-person meetings which are arranged in advance with their manager. Details regarding schedule, required technology, environment and other OHSU conditions are detailed in the remote work documentation filled out by the employee and manager and approved by the manager. Additional safety training will be required to work with patients and protected health information.
